  1. I am trying to remember the name of some software that combines photos into one big detailed image. I think it was a microsoft tool. Anyone remember it?
  2. Do you have the error
  3. Both boot images need to be distributed (I use the x64 to boot though) I am probably not much further along than you but lets see what we can sort out for you. Deploy the TS (Task Sequence) to a test collection with a pc to try out first just so you know all is good without re-imaging an entire suite and getting it wrong. I have found (and this might be wrong) that I have had to visit each machine for the image to be deployed initially by SCCM ( I am playing around with Required TS as we speak) The TS can be hidden from the software center when you create it. Hopefully that will get you on your way but any questions fire away.
  4. This is a good site to read through Configuration Manager 2012 - www.windows-noob.com However option 66 should be your sccm server name maybe "SCCM-01" and option 67 should be the location of your boot file i.e. REMINST/SMSBoot/x64/pxeboot.com You have installed WDS?
  5. Just a thought have you had any machines PXE booting with SCCM? I had a similar problem early on and the DHCP was not configured correctly options 66 and 67. If that is ok have you tried restarting the wds service? failing that try clearing the required pxe deployments and restarting wds service/
  6. Is it just stopping at that screenshot? or does it move on to the next bootable device? Do you have Active Directory System Discovery enabled? and has that found your pc or have you manually added it?
  7. Came in this morning and I think it has worked, so I have decided to rerun the TS I set it to run at 9:30 and here we are nearly 10:30 and it still has not run any ideas how to make it run quicker?
  8. If I deploy this TS with a PXE boot it works everytime, its only when I deploy the TS as required and it seems office is about 3/4 installed before it fails. Still I will look again tomorrow and see if I have missed anything.
  9. Hi Rozzer I have been getting a TS failure when office 2010 is installing strange because the TS installs fine if I pxe boot. I will et to the bottom of it next week
  10. I am really interested is this your own script or something you found on the web, are you willing to share it?
  11. Thanks for such a fast reply, could you explain how you have achieved this please.
  12. I am rolling out my new Windows 7 images and the time has come to decide on roaming or mandatory profiles. How did you incorporate users existing data? we are also going to have different software in different suites so how are you dealing with program shortcuts? are you using redirected short-cut folders per suite? It seems such a simple question but I know there will be many ideas about it and I would like to hear about things that caught you out.
  13. A little update I have a collection called "Test" with a single machine in ti that I use for testing purposes but you are dead right AliG one wrong move and bye bye infrastructure. I came in this morning and the machine had frozen on the installing Office 2010 part of the install. This being a test machine it is one of a few older machines and as a result I hadn't tested it deploying an image with SCCM it had been install manually, so I have now borrowed a machine I know that works and will come back with the results later.
  14. I think I have done it. I will know more in the morning but when I left tonight I had got the ts running the machine had rebooted into winpe and was downloading the wim file so fingers crossed all will be good
  15. I am looking at deploying a required task sequence, has anyone tried this?
  16. I am getting my SCCM environment up and deploying clients and software and things seem to be working quite well. Now thinking ahead I am wondering if it will be possible to re-image suites without visiting the machines, I am sure this must be possible and maybe even schedule a suite to be re-imaged when no one is on site.
  17. Its my personal account not work related
  18. I have just found this resource for Dell deployment and thought I would share Dell Driver CAB files for Enterprise Client OS Deployment - Enterprise Client - Wiki - Enterprise Client - Dell Community I have found WinPE drivers here that were released 10 days ago. Fingers crossed its the ones I want...................................SUCCESS
  19. I have just bought some Dell Optiplex 390's and I am having problems booting the SCCM WinPE image it downloads the boot.wim file then crashes out on the "initializing windows" screen I am presuming its the Sata drivers. I have downloaded the Dell WinPE 3.0 driver pack but that doesn't seem to make any difference. Is anyone using this machine with SCCM?
  20. I have got this working. What I did was delete the Client Installer Package delete the Task Sequence and delete the OS System Installer then I recreated them all again exactly the same and all is working I think the SAN problems I had have caused quite a few corrupt files.
  21. I am hoping someone could have a look at this smsts log file. I can't see the issue I am hoping someone else can. SCCM 2012 I get to the action "Setup Windows and Configuration Manager" then the Task Sequence fails with an error code 0x80004005 (I have only included the part of the log file that has the errors) Parsing group node: Capture the Reference Machine]LOG]!> Parsing step node: Prepare Configuration Manager Client]LOG]!> Parsing step node: Prepare OS]LOG]!> Parsing step node: Capture the Reference Machine]LOG]!>
  22. I have sorted this problem the answer was to remove the DP and then remove the WDS role then delete the RemoteInstall folder, SCCMcontentLib folder, SMSPKGD$ folder and the SMSSIG$ folder reboot the server then add the WDS role then add the DP. Maybe this will help someone else one day
  23. I have moved on from here and now I am getting PXE-E55 error, but I have wasted an entire morning trying to progress I am wondering if I can re-install and somehow back up the settings that I have implemented so I don't have to go through the entire set up again.
  24. I wasn't aware of this site I will have a look and see if there are any suggestions there, Cheers
  25. We lost our SAN the other week as a few of you know when we spoke at a meeting last week. Well I have a shiny new SAN and I have managed to get my Hyper V virtual machines back up and running, one of them being a SCCM 2012 server. Everything seems to be ok however I am getting a PXE-T04: Access violation this was all working before the SAN died. Any Ideas?
