First of all I must point out I am totally out of my comfort zone working with Macs. Anyway this is the scenario and I would really apprieciate some advice as to what other people are doing. We have a Mac server, I think its known as a Mac Mini (a little square box about 16 x 16 x 4 cm) its running Mac version 10.5.8 it has a 1.58 processor and 1 gig of Ram) we have about 30 iMacs (all white ones and Aluminium ones) all running 10.5.8 I intend to network all the Macs and have a single sign on via Active Directory which I seem to have got working if a bit clunky. My main want at this time is to be able to centrally deploy images and manage these iMacs as they are all in need of a rebuild. I read about a product called deploystudiosever 1.6.0 so I have downloaded it but when I try to install it on the server (which is a fresh build) I get a message "Failure Installation cannot proceed, as not all requirements were met". So this is where I ask for some advice, what are you doing with your iMacs how do you manage / Image them.

You absolute star, sometimes you bang your head too long and start looking for far more difficult solutions That seems to be working fine time to do some testing.

I have installed a test set up for Remote Apps on Server 2012, if I publish various system apps like word pad or calculator everything work really well. However have installed Sims on this server which works when on the machine locally, but when published I can see the app and it works the same as other apps except it doesn't show the Sims log on prompt. Has anyone got any experience of this, or publishing Sims.net remotely with Server 2012?

Sorry about that I should have followed this up. On the whole it was a very smooth transition doing what I said above, I think I did have two duplicate ip addresses but that was easily fixed with a release / renew. Everything has worked very smoothly since without a problem.

I have decided to put the Mac's that we have onto the network as apposed to being stand alone mainly for the purpose of file storage. At the moment student save to the local machine which is not a great solution. So here is the first problem I have encountered. I have Binded the Mac to Active Directory and I can log on with domain accounts, but I am having problems with mapping home folders and network drives. Is there any info on how to set this up My File server home folder shares are \\server\homes$\Staff and \\server\homes$\Students the Mac is mounting a folder on the Desktop Homes$ and I can see folders inside but this is not what I want. My perfect solution would be a mirror of the windows shares, User Home folder, Public share, and any other required network shares. Is this even possible? After that is sorted I would like to be able to manage them centrally I have a OSX server on version 10.5.8, I would welcome some advice here to as this is my first adventure with Macs

I think this is an easy one for someone who does this alot I have a spiceworks server SERVER-01 I access it using port 1234 We are using IE9 and I can't get the exception to work I have been trying if (isPlainHostName(host) || shExpMatch(host, "Server-01-01:1234")) return "DIRECT"; I have also tried if (dnsDomainIs(host, "Server-01*")) return "DIRECT"; The top one works with Firefox and Chrome but not IE9, any ideas

What I have done is set the duration to 1800s that is my temporary fix, I keep promising myself some time to look into this and sort it out.

We are having exactly the same issue, some days it doesn't happen at all and then other days it happens loads bit of a PITA to be honest but for the moment I can't find a solution, mainly cos I just don't have the time.

Reviving an old thread I am about to do the same as you both with Autocad 2013, my question is did you create your msi or was it supplied by autodesk?

I have got deployments working again, I have gone through all the settings checking everything, and everything seemed fine. Checked all services again as stated before and still I couldn't find anything wrong. So I have just rebooted the server and would you believe it everything is is up and running. So I suppose it had to be a service but I had restarted all associated services so I can't be sure. But its working that's the main thing

Thanks for the quick reply Unfortunately no they seem to be fine I'll try a restart just never know No that did't work. Watching the deployment process it copies the agent files, starts installing the agent and then that is where it fails.

Solus3 has been working fine since August and we have deployed over 150 clients. However last week it stopped working with this error COM error: Server execution failed (Exception from HRESULT:0x800800c Our County Support have failed to come up with a fix so I thought I would put out to the masses so to speak. I can do a manual install from the Solus folder, no passwords have changed

I am in need of some help. I have a problem with SMART board orientation, in that staff are being prevented from saving the config. I know that its down to a group policy and I know its down to the user section of the policy. I have copied the original policy and I am slowly working through removing sections but with no luck as to finding what the issue is. I know it the user section because I have disabled this section and SMART board orientation works, when go into SMART board control panel / about software and product support / Diagnostics I can see the error a section of which is below. We are looking buy a Nutrition Program or a free one if there is an alternative. So I was wondering what people are using. We have Nutrients but we are looking for something more up to date if there is such a beast.
