i had this problem, logged a call with RM they remoted in to the Sims server on Friday and reinstalled the data extractor because it was missing some registry settings because it was 2008 64bit. It was creating accounts just the timetable wasn't there correctly and some student were missed of class lists

in the reference book for ghost it says about [userData] Computername=* will make it randomly generate a name. i take this is talking about in the sysprep file. i would try removing it. it also says about if you use sid change on sysprep don't use it with ghost walker. we don't use sysprep because its just a pain. also after you ghost as long as the random names don't get pushed back the console you could try to run configeration on its own to rename them correctly

in configuration which method are you using Default, template or custom? also are you using any advanced settings in SID change?

just tick the configuration box in the task and select Sid change under the clone tab then under the configuration you can select to make a template or use default we use default to keep the names the same after the ghost e.g. it1-01 will always be it1-01. You can even if set up on the machines in the console get it to re-add them to the OU of your choice. Also I think when you first set it up you can put a domain admin account in which it uses to add the machines to the domain.

This is a strange question but I’ve been told it by someone (never paid much attention to it) on the back of a gx620 are the mice plugged in the USB sockets under the nic socket? because they I was told that sometimes if they aren’t they don’t always work properly. Downloaded iTunes 9.1.1 last night deleted all my calendar events, re-synced it and it appears to have been fixed.

At our school the senior tech updates the website and I update the VLE (RM KLP), well look after it. In the process of setting it up, you can assign different people to different areas for example Admin could keep the staff area up to date.

We have RM Kaleidos Learning Platform, it Exports from Sims, but due to recent updates both on Sims and on RM, I’m having a few issues getting some parent accounts to be created(around 150 – 170 out of 2000-2500) and downloading them because the download all feature stopped working on the KLP .

Hey People I’m trying to find out what we have to have achieved by certain deadline on VLE’s, for instance I believe that we have to have parents on by September to do attendance. But is this just on a VLE with attendance, or do we have to so it’s reporting behaviour and assessment? If not what are the deadlines for theses. I tried looking on Becta’s website, and found some useful document but not what I was looking for. And no one can give me a clear answer. Help *I know this is the wrong area, sorry, only noticed after i posted it, click the wrong by mistake can some move is possible* please

The new version of Boxford 2D design comes on a separate CD it’s a bit of a waste of a CD, I think FDD Boxford is compatible because I think I remember installing it on the image.

I would have loved to of gone, but didn’t have the money for the tickets and have a shed load of coursework to do. But I’ve got some of his shows on DVD.

I find myself needing a floppy disk sometimes, some machines are picky from what they will boot ghost on. But saying that bootable USB drives have replaced most my needs for one and only 30% of PC’s in the school has floppy disk drives. They were just another holder for a paper clips or bits of paper.

Thanks people, Only got what you meant at 7 last night. I did a Concatenate to merge the first name, last name and first 8 characters from the left of the address on both spread sheets then used Vlookup for find the whole address. I was thinking when I first thought about it was a VB script which could read each line then check certain fields to see if they matched, Then copied over the full address field.

i liked GOW but GOW2 is when i started to really get in to GOW, i hope they can make a game which can top GOW2

The data has no real unique ID So let’s say I have the KLP list Forename, Surname, Address Bob, Smith, 101 Fake Street Sims report Forename, Surname, Address Bob, smith, 101 fake street Peterborough pe5 h88 However there can be more than 1 bob smith

Hey People I’m looking for a script which could merge two Excel documents but the lines don’t match. I have a kaleidos username and password list. This contains forename, family name and first part of the address. So I’m hoping to do Sims report to pull out full address and forename and surname then I want to match the 2 up. So I can do a mail merge. Help Andy
