  2. they are not the same spec. how ever it did use to work fine on the laptop in question.

I have a 2 laptops, both with Virtual Box installed, i installed OpenSuse 11.1 and OpenSolaris 2009.06 on one and it works fine installs then boots in to the GUI. same install on the other laptop and i just Command line login for Solaris. and a black screen or cmd line login for Suse. any ideas?
  4. We use the RM Kaleidos Learning Platform. We are on the 2nd attempt we did have E2BN’s VLE. And it going better with the support of SMT. all the students are on & we are in the process of training staff. but we have had this since July 07. But only really started to push it since last July. As for the other question, I don't know how long it took to order because the LEA bought it for us for the first 3 years so all the schools in Peterborough are on the same system. also the KLP is hosted are RM and users are exported from Sims and some other which i can't remember the names hope this helps:)

  6. Classroom PC's every main holiday unless some really urgent comes up then half term or won't Boot. Admin PC’s only if they won’t boot or have a major issue.

  13. Can anyone recommend me a USB Stick which is 16GB and cheapish but I need one with write protection to stop from getting viruses. This is for work and personal use. 16GB sticks are easy to come by but one with write protection I just can’t find any:(.

    Does it Support hyper threading? The Bios should tell you, also are you using the latest version of the bios?

    What processer? My old home desktop was a Dell Dimension 3100, upgraded everything on but it came down to a rubbish Intel Celeron. Which sealed its fate as scrap.

  19. got my disc yesterday, took about a hour to install though i had to go out so i couldn't have a play with it.
  20. i'm sure that Garage band comes with iLife, and new Mac's normal come with iLife:)
  21. Restarted the switch, the server could see the SAN but not the network. And according to HP it’s normal for the SAN to always do scrub:)

  23. it just keeps going in circles:( it finishs then restarts the the scrub
  24. now the one that had finished has started again:(
