No problem. I thought it was an odd thing to complain about as we have 10+ students using this with no issues. I think this particular student is use to Microsoft Word where what you see on the page is how it prints.

Random request I had today was a student was unsure how much she was writing because the the software doesn't show pages. I mentioned it tells them the word and character count but that isn't a good indicator. The student likes to go by physically seeing the pages (kind of like a print preview in WordPad). A weird request but is that possible to add - to show pages.

This is something we've been asked. We're everything Google at the moment but some staff just can't grasp the differences between Word Documents and Google Docs. Or they have most of their work in Word format and can't be bothered to update it. We've setup O365 just for One Drive use but not started using it yet.

The KMS key is added to a KMS server in which machines will look for via DNS to activate their Windows or even Office. The MAK key is used when a machine is not going to be connected to a network so can't use KMS to activate. You put the MAK key straight into the computer you're trying to activate.

This. You will have to add your KMS key to your KMS server. The last few versions of Windows you have to request a KMS key from microsoft which you can then add to your KMS server. You can run this command in an Elevated command prompt to view more commands for kms troubleshooting on a machine: cscript c:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs

We have a staff briefing once a week which requires staff at 2 different sites to attend a room to watch the briefing. We're currently using Facetime/hangouts for this but finding it to be a bit sketchy and not very reliable. Does anyone know of some video broadcasting software (free/open source?) which can possible be installed on a server to make it a better experience?

Are you using the free version of Meraki? Might be that the free version doesn't have this feature.

I've been playing this for a few weeks now. Don't get much time to play but I've played a fair few games now. It's very good considering it's early access but still needs a lot of work. The good thing about this is the Devs listen and release updates every week. A revive bug was introduced in the last patch but the Dev released a fix within a few days. My PC struggles to play this game so might look at getting a new graphics card.

We're not using the TeachersOf groups in Salamander but we are using a lot of other groups that have synced fine (as far as I'm aware). I've had an issue before in which I needed to hide lots of addresses from the Global Address List and anything I changed in the Google admin side didn't work. So I used GAM to run this command on each group: gam update group [email protected] include_in_global_address_list true If you know which groups are missing you could run a script to update them all in one go (or just run it against all TeacherOf groups).

If you're devices are on different vlans you'll need to setup the bonjour gateway on the meru controller and make the vlans broadcast to other vlans. This was setup for us when we had the controller put in so I don't know too much about it.

You may need to open up some ports to Apple Push notification services. See https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT203609 We use Jamf and Smoothwall so this setup can defiantly work. As for assigning apps to devices: Check the app is assigned using the VPP tab in the Mobile Device Apps page.
