When I open Previous Versions on the Exam Write pad it's not giving me any options? I can see there are files in the ExamWritePad backup location (examtextbackup files) but I can't open them? Figured I can change the file extension and open them. It seems the config file is set to save every minute but this isn't happening? It seems to auto save feature isn't working at the moment. EDIT: After some further testing. I think something in the config file is causing the auto save not to work for me as opening the software with a default config profile works fine.. Possibly prompting users to enter their details when the software loads as it asks them to save once they have done this. Possbily something to do with 1

If anyone else is interested in signing you can use this link: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/6CBPBR7 This year has already started so they'll be in touch around easter time for next years. They said they can provide a free copy of games to play them and in some cases provide the hardware.

I emailed digital school house but haven't heard anything back.

Many Thanks.

Fair enough. What Overwatch League did you sign-up to?

How do you go about licensing and accounts for doing such things? Was thinking about starting a Rocket League club or something at our school using steam but wasn't sure how licensing works for this stuff.

Not sure if this is my printer but we have students change to Bold when they are in their extra time (SEN students). When we print their work it doesn't print in bold but on the ExamWritePad software it is displayed in bold. Again, might be our printer but not got any others to test.

Another small tweak would be to add an X(Close) button on the Passcode to Exit box in case they click the close button by accident. The only way to close the box is to enter the incorrect password (or correct password which will close it but they might not want to close it).

In the config file I have 1 1 This asks the candidate to save as soon as they finish entering their info. This save prompt doesn't auto populate the filename with their information. Let me know if you need more information.
-
The candidate information in the file name on first save only works if you go to Save As and doesn't put in the information if they're prompted to save - for example, saving after they've entered their candidate info. Edit: The passcode on exit is now working. A very small thing about the box is you can't press Enter on the keyboard to confirm. You have to click it with your mouse.

I've just started testing the new version and the Exit Passcode box is sitting behind the ExamWritePad software so I can't enter the passcode. I can press alt + tab to try switch but it always goes behind the software.

Is anyone able to test setting up an iPad as new to see what timezone their iPad gets? I've tried lots of iPads (in dep) on different networks which keep getting the default Cuppertino timezone even though I'm selected United Kingdom as the Region and have location services enabled as part of the pre-stage enrolment. I'm starting to think Apple has an issue with their NTP server so the iPads can't get the correct time. This is stopping the iPads from enrolling into our MDM as their time is so out of time with our MDM server. Are other people seeing the same issue?

The website says for 18 years and older: "Bothwell School of Witchcraft is an all new addition to the College of Wizardry Universe based in the UK. This event is for over 18s only."

This is similar to us. Each student has their own exam login and there is a script that runs when they log off to move their work to a network area so they can't access it again without asking IT.

My son is 5 (6 in June) and loves the nintendo Wii. Obviously all the games are a bit old now but it's still a very good starter console. We're thinking about getting him a Nintendo 2DS xl for Christmas this year so he can play with his cousin. The Switch is also an option we've considered but thinking it's a bit pricey at the moment and not many games out for it.

1. What's a recommended way of managing them e.g. locking them down and removing apps, and also deploying apps? You will need to look into an MDM solution. Some examples: Jamf Pro, Meraki, LightSpeed, Airwatch etc. This will probably be an additional cost to the iPads as you'll require licenses to use the MDM solution. The MDM will allow you to control the iPads. You'll also need to look into setting up the school with Apple School Manager to enable you to purchase apps and create managed appled IDs. It will also provide you with a Device Enrolment Program (DEP) ID which you can give to suppliers so they can assign iPads to your institute. 2. What's the best way to buy them in terms of discount, or is it essentially an education discount and no more? There isn't much discount when it comes to iPads. You probably best off going to a few company's and asking for quotes (jigsaw 24, Albion and many more) These company's can usually help with getting everything setup. Leasing might be worth it if you want to spread the cost over a few years. 1. What's a recommended way of managing them e.g. locking them down and removing apps, and also deploying apps? 2. When I installed Windows on some new iMacs at the beginning of the year I had a driver issue with speakers. I used https://github.com/timsutton/brigadier to download the drivers for the iMac. Searched through the driver folder and found 2 different sound drivers. One set of drivers fixed my issue whereas the other one stopped the speakers from working.

We have this issue with Scomis also. I spoke to them yesterday and they are doing some updates that should resolve this issue by this afternoon. The fix I found worked was the reg edit: reg.exe Add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client" /V "RDGClientTransport" /T REG_DWORD /D "1" Copying files from one machine to another didn't work for us but this regedit does. Edit: Here's the email I got yesterday from Scomis: Your outstanding request with the Scomis Service Desk (Call reference F0294070) : Error logging into SIMS has now been resolved. An overview of the action taken to resolve this query is below :- Called College and spoke to user, I made user aware of the update we are running after lunch tomorrow which will allow all Windows 10 users to work with any security package errors.

We had something similar to this with Fortinet. We found our band steering had randomly turned itself off (maybe after an update or something). Turning it back has helped.

I hear some people say the apps re-appear after some windows updates. Is this true?

We found youtube IOS app uses another googlevideos link which we added to our DNS settings which fixed it but also stopped all videos on all devices playing so we had to remove it.
-
We currently have our DNS set to moderately restricted and also the student accounts to get Moderate restrictions when signed into their google account from the Google Admin console. These videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h36wbRHInhs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h36wbRHInhs Work on the IOS youtube when not signed into an account (so will be getting moderate restrictions from DNS). Don't work on the IOS youtube app when signed in as a student (getting moderate restrictions from admin console).
-
We've setup the DNS options as per https://support.google.com/a/answer/6214622?hl=en&visit_id=1-636443486884999682-85807447&rd=1 I've tested being logged into institutional accounts and not being logged in at all. Devices do go home so can connect from outside of the firewall. We're on the latest version of IOS and Youtube app. If i click on a link to a youtube video and select open in app it will play. If I open it in browser the mobile site will load and play the video. If I then say to use the desktop site it is blocked.
-
Sorry to revive an old thread but we've just implemented the DNS options to make youtube moderately restricted. Working quite well but we've found some videos which are blocked on the desktop site work on the mobile site and the youtube IOS app. Anyone else encountered this?

We used Home - Reach Timelapse for our new build. Examples: Stephen Perse Foundation - New Senior School - Timelapse Movies
