If you do not use lesson monitor, you can't map period 4 back to a statutory pm registration period. You need the lesson monitor setup options for that

I don't think sims logs the initial code entry, only subsequent edits

So firstly you need to check that the correct version of the timetable has been sent over, as that build is from Sept '17 and is the 2 week version. I would assume not. Care should be taken here and if you have a support contract with someone I would ask them to investigate. If the timetabler is confident sending over the timetable then I would select a start day of today and apply the timetable from today on wards.

Ooo a classic one this. Timetable sent over but not applied correctly. Check out Tools > Academic Managerment > Apply Timetable. Be careful with dates and weeks as you appear to have a 2 week timetable

Tmpsimsrpt folder in My Documents can be added as a trusted location for server bases My Docs storage via options in word or at policy level. Try that

If it is not linked to active directory, is easy to change via system manager in Sims. Make sure corresponding staff entry has also had a name change, be mindful of staff code changes though as this messes up timetables

How about exporting them, extract to folder, and then use CMD to list and copy

When ios is updated, a guid that is used by teacher app changes on the ipad and thus the device becomes deauthed. It was a bug, now fixed in the latest app, but it will happen at least once as the devices are already authed, but then it should not happen again

My sentiments exactly. I have given up on this game and moved onto other things, they won't care too much though, as we have already paid for it. Its the Same for most of the Early Access titles

Hiya guys Have deployed these via site update to a couple of new sites and it appears that it is already deployed for our other sites. I've configured the web part as per instructions and nada ! ANdroid / Ipad not working, and just displays regular SLG I wonder if the URL I put in the Webpart is correct though . . Anyone got this working correctly? Steve

Med conditions and Notes, have to have their own tables in an RTF report as they are multiple record sets. In response to your OP, that is how I advise our schools to use them, but as long as the school is consistent you can be flexible in the use of these fields

Don't forget to mention Report | Student Lists . . . these are usually the quickest and most useful ways of getting class list printouts with useful information on them.

Glad you got it sorted, however the standard approach does seem to work fine for the green abbey test database.

From what date are the pupils assigned to the classes though? The effective date must be selected within their group membership for the reg groups to show up. It is not good selecting 01/09/2014 if the pupils do not turn up until 03/09/2014. Just a guess but I cannot think what else it would be

Works ok for me. Are the students assigned to the reg groups on the date you are using as an effective date? IE Accademic yr is 01/09 and class association is 03/09. Thus running the report on 01/09 would not give you the choice to select the new reg groups as they are not populated until the 3rd . .

I saw Matt commenting on this on twitter and thought I would check it out. Very interesting thread with lots of arguments and counter arguments, But unless I have missed it, everyone is assuming that the fire would be very accommodating and only take hold after a registration had been taken. What happens if the fire takes hold at 8.45, with pupil milling about in the fields, the playgrounds and sometimes in the school corridors on the way to registration? At this point they have not signed in or been registered. Whatever procedure schools have in place for this scenario, is the one they should employ all of the time . . . . Of course, this is a trick scenario and in the 7 years I have been rolling out SIMS in the classroom, when I pose this question, which I do every time, not one school has had an answer ready for me. With that in mind, if schools want a system, I generally advise > 1. Pre-printed class lists to be taken to the roll call 2. Signing in/out books to be taken to the roll call 3. Absence lists to be printed after registration and used to highlight missing pupils 4. Fire Marshal area sweeps on exit This is for the schools peace of mind only and as Phil Neal rightly says, the Fire Services will always assume there may be someone to save and will politely ignore your lists.

As I understand it . . . D code should only be used for instances where the establishment the student is attending, holds their registration jointly. In this instance, the "Other" establishment is responsible for recording the attendance mark and you are not, thus they are effectively are not required at your school B will count as a present mark and should/could be used where a timetabled provision cannot be / is not offered at your school and the pupil, via consortia learning, has access to the teaching at another establishment. You maintain the responsibility for the pupil and thus record their mark, and the pupil simply attends the other establishment to receive the lesson. B is a present mark (or rather an AEA) so make sure the report is not just pulling present marks. You need to report on Present + AEA

Loving this game at the moment. A cross between Day-Z and Minecraft. You spawn with a rock and you must farm to get resources to survive. Whilst doing this other players are farming and building bases etc so watch your back! Choose to be a nomad or join a faction to raid other player's bases . . . The guys over at OPSv | Portal run a server, 85.236.100.63:30915 and its a really good mix of PvP and PvE. You get Kits to help you when you first join so you do not get jumped on from the off. There are active admins and the remove tool is activated. I also like Mass airdrops of kit from time to time. There is usually around 20 people on at least and there are some great gun battles as most people have factioned off. Hopefully I will see you there . . before you see me ;P Ste

As LEA support, the main advice I have given schools it to steer away from the cheap generic Chinese tablets (typically 7-10") that are everywhere. If you do go for a cheap tablet, such as an Archos or Advent, make sure it is a capacitive screen. Resitive screens are a bit of a faff. The only comparable tablet to an Ipad out there are the moment, that I have played with, is the Samsung Galaxy Tab. The new Asus Prime looks nice and the Sony tablet is well built.

This thread makes interesting reading for me. We support over 250 schools in the use of SIMS and virtually all of these schools who use SIMS in the classroom have selected the SIMS client to be installed on the teachers laptop. I am curious as to the benefits (cost/ease) of selecting these third party alternives over a SIMS client installation. Webfolder and PARS I am aware of, but until this thread, i would not have thought to offer this as a possible solution to SIMS in the classroom over the client installation. We have 3 or 4 schools that solely use SLG too . . . . . i know!
