  1. Thanks. So we just mark them as ‘/‘ regardless of whether or not they stay in school? Or should we use mark them as ‘S’ - study leave here in NI counts as AEA but then again this is only for a lesson mark and will not affect their overall attendance percentage as the PM register is taken in the period after lunch
  2. Hi, At our school we have agreed to allow our year 13 pupils who are free last period on a Friday afternoon to go home, we are not sure what to mark them as in that period. There will be some students who choose to stay in school which is fine as we can mark them with the / code that period. But would it be acceptable to mark all students as / the last period? In NI the attendance not required codes are: ! = no attendance required (e.g when different year groups are being inducted on different days) X = staff training Y = exceptional circumstances # = holiday. Should we just mark the ones who go home as ‘!’? But how can we bulk mark the ones who are free as ‘!’ If they choose to stay in school as that means we will have to change those marks back to ‘/‘ ?
  3. Hi is there anyway in sims that you can see who entered an attendance mark? E.g say Mr D Brown had a registration class and he was off sick one day and there was a teacher covering his reg class and that teacher took the register in their name, how can we see that? When viewing a students attendance summary and say we hover over the AM cell on that day that Mr D Brown was ill, it still says Mr D Brown. How do we see who really took the reg?
  4. Hello Does anybody know how you can view a pupils exclusions in SIMS? I've always done this by going into student details and then clicking 'exclusions' on the student links panel on the right hand side of the screen. I assume there has been an update or something but the exclusions link seems to have disappeared from the student links panel. Thanks
  5. Hello all, When you are marking a student on the reg at a future date e.g a pupil has to attend a pre planned medical appt, how do you save a future mark without sims marking other students absent? Basically a teacher in our school had to mark a pupil in their form group as medical appt (code M) tomorrow morning so they clicked into the register for tomorrow from their Timeline on the homepage and then pit code M against the respective student and then she clicked save and it said something like "all othet students will be marked absent, do you wish to continue?" Is there anyway you can go into a register and only mark one student without it marking the others as anything? Also, how can form teachers pre mark a student in other teachers lessons? Say a child is off ill for the day is there anyway that the form teacher for that child can enter them a mark for the whole day aswell as their registration mark? Thanks
  6. Hello, a student in Year 12 has said that they would like to keep check on their attendance marks and information and that they would like to have access to SIMS. Is there anyway that we can create the student a user account that is restricted and the only information they can view in SIMS is their own information? Thanks
