My understanding is you can't get the password from AD, whatever is authenticating salts and hashes your password, sends that to the ad server, and gets back either a token or an error code.

If it's out of warranty, and the manufacturer has stopped supporting it, then it's probably old enough that it's worth replacing anyway for piece of mind. I'd be budgeting to replace OOW/discontinued equipment where I can, and keep the old stuff for emergency replacements if there's a problem elsewhere.

Unplug the NAS from the network, connect it directly to your machine, set your machines ip to be in the same range, then connect, log on, set to dhcp, unplug from your machine and back onto the network.

Gonna have to disagree with you on that one, IPS panels have the worst pixel response times, VA is a compromise but I'd be looking at a decent TN panel, you can get reasonably accurate colours and a fast pixel response.
