Thing is, they were 8 inch floppies... And from what I've read, they haven't decommissioned the servers, so there's a chance they are just using floppy emulators!

It's a neat idea, but it isn't going to be "drop-in". Engine mounts are going to be a pain, battery location is going to be awkward, there's no mention of what happens with the current transmission, which could throw up added complexities. For something like a kit car, this could be incredible, a Caterham with one of those could be bonkers!

Being dishonest is bad idea. As for cars, quality and reliability can vary from model to model, year to year. And that's before we start discussing how each individual car has been maintained. Then we have looks, wanted features etc. There's a reason there are so many different models of cars, you will need to do the legwork, find what you like the look of, then check general reliability of that particular make/model, and then check the specific cars you are looking at for issues, get someone that knows cars to check it over, don't just trust the "150 point check" that the dealer offers, they can still miss many potential problems.

That's kind of the point, you're supposed to put them in an area with good coverage to extend the signal into an adjacent area with poor coverage.

Some situations are better suited to open source solutions, some are better suited to closed source solutions, that's fine. What isn't fine is that some users here feel the need to all but attack others for having the temerity to pay for something that could be achieved with open source solutions. Holier-than-thou attitudes are the perfect way to discourage someone from your point of view, if you want to provide a counter-argument improve your attitudes...

How did you create this image? It sounds like you have just cloned the drive, which won't work as there are low-level bits of Windows that need to be unique, such as the drive identity, which is what usually causes that error.
