I misread that the first time, definitely time for more coffee!

Is it powering off or just going to sleep? Do they have a magnetic bracelet that's going over the lid sensor?

My vote has of course gone to the neon, but I wouldn't say no to the pink!

I have had to deal with it previously, even showing the teachers didn't help!

Yup, we have Ruckus, and use multiple IP ranges on the same SSID using NPS

Here is giffgaff's info on parental controls: https://www.giffgaff.com/blog/internet-safety-parental-controls You can get a PAYG SIM with £5 credit here

Are they trying to make files that are like 1,000 inches square instead of 1,000 pixels square? I've seen that happen enough times

Just an FYI, you can get some better pricing away from ebuyer, I've put a list together: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/VxHYK3

For Intel, the F cards have no integrated graphics, all others do. The K signifies that the CPU is unlocked for overclocking. I'd probably go for the 5600X over the 3700x, the performance is much greater on the 5600X even though it's 2 physical cores down on the 3700X: https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-Ryzen-7-3700X-vs-AMD-Ryzen-5-5600X/4043vs4084 As for the the Quadro, I'd look at something like the NVS310 1Gb with dual displayport from @ICTDirect_Dave or maybe a K600 if you can find one.

The processor you listed doesn't have an integrated GPU, so you need to get a dedicated GPU or switch to a non-F CPU. As dalek said, I'd be going for an AMD CPU with dedicated graphics, even if it's just a £20 quadro card from ICT Direct until gaming cards come back to sensible pricing!

I use Ruckus here, nothing but the best for me

Yeah, should be the same rules as the smoking law from what I've read. -

You may be right, that was the last info I heard! -
If you have the time, I'd set up something like gophish (https://getgophish.com/) and send a campaign over the course of the week, then you can go in to the session knowing how many people fell for it, and it should shock them into listening and learning!

You're supposed to follow up with a PCR, but you have to isolate regardless of the PCR result so it's a bit pointless really, other than for government statistics. -

Video player most used by UK Secondary schools?
bald_pig replied to Isaac3142's topic in General Chat
Ah yes, the random blog article on the entire website about digital signage, how silly of us! I'm sure I'd love to buy a signage system to sell or offer videos to schools from a website instead of getting something actually designed for the job...- 22 replies

If it's a paid-for service, I'd expect you to host them yourself. You'll find that the majority of schools will be blocking YouTube, Vimeo, or both, so there isn't really a perfect answer outside of self-hosting.- 22 replies

I use Ruckus at home, never had an issue

it was like 400 euro, but it was a dodgy seller so they've probably been banned.
