heelo @Bubloz I do believe a controller gives you access to 50 or 100 APs, it's a shame you didn't ask this question last year, I had to dump 52 of their AGN APs. IIRC, it's the maintenance cost that will get ya, the maintenance cost of the controller was quoted to me at around £3k a year. How many more APs are you looking at getting, as I actually setup my own Unifi controller (it's software based) and ran the two networks next to one and other, gradually replacing the APs, with using Windows RADIUS on an NPS server, and there wasn't a headache at all, people could roam between them. I replaced all of my APs for around £4.2k and it seems to have solved a lot of issues. Now I cannot say if that is because their controller is so much nicer to use, or if it was because I wen from AGN to an AC network. If you want to PM to chat, let me know

Hello @junz That is right, I have had to run some clubs in the past, I stumbled across this a while ago https://www.kodugamelab.com/ This is a great resource to use Kodu for programming ideals, they have a bunch of lesson plans on there, which you can use to give them the basics and then you can give your students the challenges they do on there, like programming the Kodu (little in game character) to get it to teleport from on island to another. That way you can get some friendly competition in place. They also have some resources for using the BBC MicroBit as a controller etc, but I haven't had a chance to try them yet. The good thing about Kodu is that it is a visual based programming language, so that you can get all the fundamentals in place without the students having to learn the "language" used first.

I am currently reading a book lent to me by our headteacher, it is not fiction. It is called "A beginners guide to being mental. An A-Z from anxiety to zero f**KS given" The title does have the ** in there. The author, Natasha Devon MBE does have her own challenges with mental health that she openly writes about. It is not just discussing mental health issues but also speaks about mental health in the same way as physical health and not just about what is wrong in certain cases. Two working days with reading it just after work at home, I am 1/3 of the way through. It really is an interesting read.

Hello @JayCFC and welcome to edugeek. You can invite the students (as long as their email addresses are held within SIMS .net) but you can get parents to choose the options. After you invite the parents (or students) in the SIMS Admin portal, you need to make sure that they have student or parent permissions in the SIMS options permissions part there. Then within options they should be able to pick the options with their child(ren)

You are deleting the PST, but if this is Cached mode, it used OST files located at the following C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\@.ost I get this issue with this myself and periodically run scanpst.exe from the office folder and scan this OST and it usually solves it

I am currently playing Assassins Creed Origins at the moment. Although I am enjoying it, they have cut out even more of the modern day plot (well form what I have seen so far) I am almost near the end of the story, but I am having to do some more leveling to get ready for the final couple of story missions on my list.

Glad to be of help, it's only because mine suffers with that now and again, so I run the scanPST and it solves it. Because the mailbox is the same, it sees the OST (I am sure it is an OST with cached mode) with the same mailbox name and reuses it, even with a new mail profile.

You tried the scanpst tool on the local ost file outlook creates? It seems to like to use that even with a new outlook profile unless you manually delete it?

How many clients are we talking about here, as I think that with native cell and all the same channel you are going to be having collision issues. Do you have a map you can PM over? As I may be able to give you pointers on what APs to set to what channel, as you are going to be having issues, I am pretty sure of it.

Probably best, So their single channel tech, you have to have Virtual Cell and/or Virtual Port enabled, at the moment it looks like it isn't, so it is working the same as any other wireless network that has all the APs on the same channel. I would check with your Finance team to see if you are paying for support, as they are (or used to be) really good.

As you are running "Native Cell" it is not using any of their "Virtualisation" technology, this could be causing you some issues. I would look at your map and split the 2.4GHz between channels 1, 6 and 11 as that could be causing you overlap issues (unless virtual cell is turned on at the AP level) With 5GHz I usually got between 36, 40 and 48 (there is not channel overlap on 5GHz I think, but don't quote me on that)

Are all your APs on the same channel and do you have a map of their locations? We initially had a Meru wireless network when this building was opened, and we found that the Virtual Cell/Port technology when everything was on the same channel had a performance hit when they were setup on their "Ideal" setup of all the same channel. We had meru in, and they split them into 3 different channels and the performance was better. Just over a year ago I switched from the AGN Meru network to an AC unifi network, and the performance has been noticeably better, but I cannot tell you whether it is from going AC or from using Unifi, but I did go from 52 APs down to 41 and have a noticeably better performance for end users. Do you have a valid support contract with Meru, although it was very expensive (I replaced all my APs for the cost of a Year and Half of the controller support) they are actually very good at it, and they even sent someone onsite here to do packet sniffing and adjust the network. It may be worth seeing if you can get that from them.

You can display a login message through group policy. You cannot log that it has been recorded, but if you state by clicking OK you agree, then you can use the fact that they have logged in to them agreeing. This is what I have done. Computer Configuration > Policies > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options Change the Following: Interactive Logon: Do not require CTRL + ATL + DEL (enable this so that you can have the AUP displayed instead of CTRL + ALT + DEL) Interactive Logon: Message text for users attempting to log on (write it in notepad and paste it, I always found that easier) Interactive Logon: Message title for users attempting to log on This will display a message they have to click OK to before logging on.
