Incidentally I had no idea what language people would use for iPhone development, so I just did a quick search, and it looks like Objective-C, which I've never heard of. Sure you could probably use a dozen other languages as well, but it the the current weapon of choice...?

Over the past few days I've found several times that messages I post end up in an odd-looking half-width window, possibly after editing. If I edit them (again?) and add a blank line at the bottom, it corrects it. I can't seem to replicate it now though, so you probably don't believe me.

If it's a common scenario, perhaps a software update could allow ActivStudio to recall settings from a list of projectors.

+1 for Clickview, not cheap but works well and popular with teachers. We haven't purchased any of the video libraries but there's a ton of stuff available in the "Clickview Exchange"... http://exchange.clickview.co.uk/

It sounds like the collection charge is the main problem. When buying or selling the price rarely includes delivery/collection, which was likely to be fairly substantial in this case, so I'm not entirely surprised. Seems like a bit of a communication mishap. Millgate have worked hard to engage with this forum, where they've received numerous recommendations. I've found them very helpful.

Do you have individual logons for using these laptops...? If so, have you tried logging on to one of the others to see if it might be caused by something in your user settings...? Do you get a "Debug" button when the error comes up...? If so, click that and tell us what it says... PS This is the "Educational IT Jobs" section. I know this is an age-old problem, one that has caused me many hassles over the years, and there's probably a billion threads on it already, but... OK. Clients running Windows XP, IE 8. Students have mandatory profiles, more or less problem-free. Staff have roaming profiles which periodically go wrong; the most common glitch being that clients lose their Internet settings. I once tried staff on simple, fixed mandatory profiles, but this had problems of its own and I'd prefer not to. Clearing out all the useless random local copies of profiles on the PC people are having problems with usually fixes things temporarily. Staff routinely log into several computers simultaneously, which I suspect doesn't help. It seems to be the same handful of staff members that have 90% of the problems. Does any of this sound familiar? Any recommendations?

I've got in a muddle with Flash. I'm trying to roll out v11 via an .msi I downloaded from here: Adobe Flash Player Distribution | Adobe There was a group policy to install a previous version, and I think I've messed things up by trying to simply replace the old .msi file with the new one. Trying to install via Group Policy didn't work. And even when I try to run the new .msi directly on a client, it wants the old file; if you point the PC at the new one, it says: "....not a valid installation package for Adobe Flash Player 9...", which is quite true, because it's an installation package for Flash Player 11. Can't it forget the past and move on...? Why does the v11 installer hark back to the v9 one...? And if I have to reinstate the original deleted v9 .msi to sort this out, where can I get it...? (I tried running the Adobe Flash uninstaller but that didn't seem to help.)
