  1. Hi Dave, We are looking to deploy this to a small classroom, can you restrict the settings menu or configure any of the settings?
  2. We're using it for an iPad pilot here in the school. Works great and yes it's free! Compared to other MDM's I couldn't find anything Merakie wasn't offering!
  3. Ideally I want to find out how to NOT route the traffic via the controller. Would anyone know how todo this? Searched everywhere!
  4. Is anyone else using this as a wireless solution? We are using it and overall I think its possibly the worst system I have seen! your thoughts would be great maybe I've configured something wrong?
  5. Hi Everyone, I'm a really big fan of Pfsense, however it seems that my students can see some printer in the school that are located on a completely different network. So I need to tell Pfsense to block all and allow http and https only. Can anyone advise me on how to do this? I've tried but it seems to be blocking everything... I'm also using an upstream proxy do I need to allow port 8080 for this?
  6. That's so far good news, could you update me in a couple of weeks?
  7. Thanks for your reply, I couldn't really find the answer I was looking for.... I want to know if I could do a split migration over to Unifi - We don't have the budget to take out the old and put in the new. Ideally want to buy some Unifi's but want to know if this will cause me problems? Will the Unifi see the H3C AP and adjust its power accordingly?
  8. Good Morning, I'd appreciate if anyone could show some light on Netask, we are in the middle of choosing a broadband provider and they recommend the Netask U150S to use with their service. Issue I have is I've never herd of them! I've checked their website and it doesn't look like a bad piece of kit. NETASQ - U Series S Models http://www.netasq.com/shared/_pdf/naendsh_utm-u-series-s-models.pdf Regards Matt
  9. Afternoon, I know this is an old thread but we're also looking at moving away from Local authority. I would also be interested for feedback on their services, From the meeting I had with them they look like they know what they're doing. Cloud based filtering with AD integration sound pretty good all for free! Regards Matt
  10. Hi Everyone, I'm also looking to convert from a H3C system only 3 years old! - Can I buy Unifi and use it in conjunction with another system? Just wondering if it can see the power, channel and strength from another branded AP but i'm guessing not hence why you use a controller?
  11. Hi Keith, Just to let you know by completely disabling the Windows Search Service by GPO seems to have solved this issue for us, It's now coming up to over a week without a BSOD. I hope this post will help someone else out. Regards Matt
  12. Hi Guys, We are also using ESET AV which I don't think is at fault as its the same version/package that we used on XP. Today I have turned off Windows Search (indexing) service to see If this resolves the issue. Keith, Interesting about the Macromedia - keep is posted with the outcome over the next few days!!
  13. No Linux shares all windows based. These machines were working fine on XP but now that I've moved them all over to Win 7 everyone's getting BSOD with the same error message. I have also tried various MS patches but still no joy! Oviously a driver issue but I've used all the manufacture drivers from the web!
  14. Did you find out what was causing this?? Same issue with toshiba L300 & c600 Matt
  15. Sadly this is not the case as there were no file set to import therefore no folder with the GUID was created. Had to go into the database and RM went into the table called BlobVersion then set the value of the PackageStatus to '0', I was on the right track but never went into BlobVersion. Hope this helps someone else out in the future.
  16. Hi Everyone, Wondering if you can help me, I’ve basically imported a package that has no file size. (Don’t laugh! forgot to add files) Now it appears in the RMMC but because it hasn’t actually got a file set it never created a folder in Repoman. When I go to delete the package it disappears then reappears when refreshing the screen. Any ideas? I’ve had a look in the database but can’t work-out where it is…. Regards Matt
  17. Hello Everyone, I know this is an old post I started last year however I’ve not had much time to look into this due to other commitments. So….. a year later I decided to re-package this in the hope that it was going to install without any problems. I followed the same procedure as I did when I started the post however again I could not get the Gallery to install! Tried deploying using the Microsoft way (GPO) and everything was working fine, Gallery installed without any problems. So my solution for CC3/CC4 network is turn off the gallery install using the SMART Install Manager and create two separate packages. Package One: SMART Lesson Activity Toolkit [Package] Description=SMART Lesson Activity Toolkit (Local) Version=1.0.0.0 OS=5.WS ExeFile=C:\Program Files\Common Files\SMART Technologies\SMART Product Update\Gallery Setup.exe AddCommand=--installall --remote --source “\\SERVER\Smartdeployment$” --configuration “\\SERVER\smartdeployment$\Lesson Activity Toolkit\Lesson Activity Toolkit.gallerycollection” Package Two: SMART Essentials for Educators [Package] Description=SMART Essentials for Educators (Local) Version=1.0.0.0 OS=5.WS ExeFile=C:\Program Files\Common Files\SMART Technologies\SMART Product Update\Gallery Setup.exe AddCommand=--installall --source “\\SERVER\smartdeployment$\SMART Essentials for Educators\Gallery Data Files” --configuration “\\SERVER\smartdeployment$\SMART Essentials for Educators\SMARTEssentials.gallerycollection” NOTE: Make sure you set the above to the dependency of you initial SMART Notebook Package otherwise it’ll just fail as it won’t be able to find the Gallery Setup.exe. I hope this helps out anyone that’s had the same issue as me. Regards Matt
  18. Hi Steve, Yes I did. If you want to PM me your email address I'll be happy to help\compare settings. We configured the following: Mail Delivery to On-Site Exchange > If no mailbox then forward to Live Regards Matt
  19. Did you get this fixed? We are having the same issue with one of are servers.........
  20. Yes, good point in which I would do if the LEA wasn't so controlling and difficult to get rules changed.... Hamachi - Would have been a hassle free option.
  21. Hi Everyone, Just found this thread and I'm currently evaluating Hamachi, I have been asked to provide a VPN access for 1 user I'm guessing this could expand to 5 for LMT members. I tried Gateway configuration but couldn't ping any of the servers. Current Configuration is: Hub & Spoke everything pretty much works and I'm not seeing slow performance unlike other post's on Google. My only problem is that connecting via Hamachi to MS SQL 2008 (SIMS) I get faced with "SIMS Connection failed for login gibsonm, reason:0".... Any ideas ? Would be interesting if this is a Hamachi issue or general issue with users connecting to MS SQL via VPN. Regards Matt
  22. Thanks for this, your right I wasn't separating the two! - But it does make sense when you think about it. Yes there is a GUI under 'Mail Contacts' if you want to do a few individually otherwise I'd use powershell to create them in bulk. Just found this article that will help me do this: How to create Exchange Mail Users in bulk using ‘Enable-MailUser’, you idiots « The Angry Technician Regards Matt
  23. Afternoon everyone, I’ve spent all afternoon trying to route mail through a shared address space on our on-site Exchange 2007 server and still no joy!! My aim is to route mail through the on-site exchange to MS Live@Edu cloud but keeping the primary domain address. I have followed this guide: Configure a Shared Address Space with On-Premises Relay The server can route mail via the Send Connector as I have tested this by sending an email to: [email protected] UserA has a mailbox on-site, I want to email the users primary domain ([email protected]) then exchange to route to the cloud. I have read the article on adding the live.domain.com as a proxy address to the user’s profile but the mail just gets delivered to the on-site mailbox…… I have to use shared address space because I’m still keeping staff hosted on-site. I know I’m probably missing something; can anyone point me in the right direction? Regards Matt
  24. I've found another tool called EasySync think they charge £500 for a licence and it'll automatically sync AD and passwords. Does MigrationWiz do the same job or is it purely a tool for migrating existing mailboxes to the cloud? I'm guessing we have to pay for use of the tool?
