Hi Everyone, I've now switched it back to Layer 3 and now everything is working! I confused myself by changing it to Layer 2. Thanks to everyone for you input into this. I may need to open a new thread for this but its regarding OpenVPN. In our school we have two networks Admin and Curriculum when I install Open VPN on a curriculum laptop I will need to cross-over to our admin network to connect to our MIS (SIMS) However I've tested this and it wont let me. Can anyone advise a work around for this? I was hoping to use OpenVPN for this purpose. Ping Results Main Forest Root (curriculum) Server-001.curriculum.internal This ping's fine when I run > Ping Server Main Admin Network (Admin containing MIS) Admin-001.admin.internal This doesn't when I run > Ping admin-001 "No Reply" This ping's fine when I run > Ping admin-001.admin.internal I have tried running the UNC path to the simshare but obviously no reply.

Hi Guys, Really sorry to be a pain but i've run the above commands and still not getting anywhere. Here's my setup: OpenVPN Server is on 10.18.52.2 Router is 10.18.55.254 Proxy is 10.18.52.11 Using Layer 2 (to get IP address from DHCP server) and tried Also manually looked into the IP_forward file and it has a 1 listed. My Client needs to be routed through our Proxy on site which is 10.18.52.11 port 8000 Also manually looked into the IP_forward file and it has a 1 listed.

Source being my Proxy or Router? Cheers Matt

Hi Everyone, I have just managed to set-up OpenVPN on Ubuntu everything is working and connecting fine apart from internet explorer - I want all web traffic to be routed through the open access server. FireFox is working fine with the schools proxy details but IE just wont connect. Anyone using OpenVPN? or managed to achieve routing all traffic? Regards Matt

Hi Everyone, I've spent the past two days trying to get my Outlook 2007 to connect to my Exchange 2007 server but still no luck! The error message i am getting is "Cannot Open your Default e-mail Folders, You must connect to microsoft exchange with the current user profile before you can synchronize your folders with your offline folder file.." When disabling the cached exchange mode the error message changes however, but it is still unable too actually open outlook. Just wondering if anyone else can suggest anything that I haven't already tried, so far this is what I've tried: Task 1 Editing the host file to read the internal name and external domain on the Exchange 2007 server. Task 2 Also added this registry key to my computer: 1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK. 2. Locate and then click the following subkey: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\RPC 3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value. 4. Type DefConnectOpts, and then press ENTER. 5. Right-click DefConnectOpts, and then click Modify. 6. In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK. 7. Exit Registry Editor. Task 4 Delete all local .ost files Task 5 The online test provided by microsoft passes with no problems. (https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/) Task 6 server:6001-6002; server:6004; server.domain.local:6001-6002; server.domain.local:6004; mail.external.com:6001-6002; mail.external.com:6004;" Task 7 Try Outlook 2003, but got the same error message. Task 8 Check the Exchange 2007 Management console and my user account has MAPI enabled. The configuration I'm using is the same as this article describes (Configuring the Outlook 2003 RPC over HTTP Client) When I look at the Outlook Connection status it looks like its resolving the internal machine name and that its connecting to the directory but just cant pull any inbox from the server. Afternoon everyone, Just a quick question, We are wondering if any other colleges or schools are using any 'Online Admission' process. We've seen a few colleges allowing students to create an account online and see their application process such as applying to sixthform. I've searched high and low for MySql and PHP Scripts but cant seem to find anything! If anyone can at least point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated. Cheers Matt Gibson

Hi everyone, I'm trying to request for a new certificate but when I submit the request it seems to change the status to "Pending" but then knobody can access OWA to check their emails? How can I get around this issue? I'm not sure how long it will take until I receive the new certificate and everyone must have access to the site at all times. Can anyone advise me on what to do? We've actually just refurbished our Library, we went from a room full of books about 5 long racks stacked high of books. Now there's a small corner with a few book shelf's and computer islands around the middle of the room with network and electricity trucked under the floor.

Hi John, Basically Sims student profile is very limited on what information it can hold. It don't give you the flexibility to hold student medicines shuch as Type of Medicene, Expiary Date, Amount Administered and Side Effects. The we have the same problem for when a student comes into the medical room we have an excel spreadsheet where all the data in being input by the office staff. Cheers, Matt

Hi JoshJohnson, No your not missing the point. I see where you are coming from but we've been asked to log every student that goes to the medical room and to keep a log of all the medicines we hold for the students in the school. Basically it was our Business Manager that said we will soon be required to have all this information. I was hoping somebody may have created something or know of any software ?

Hello everyone, We are currently looking into some medical software to record any accidents a student may have or if they are feeling ill and to record any medicines they may have, I have just been asked to research this its a shame that SIMS don't have a module Link within SIMS. Did anybody ever find any software for this its a real shame that SIMS doesn't have a section such as a 'LINK' to a medical module just to keep everything under one umbrella. I'm also looking into this now but it seem nothing exists? Cheers Matt

Hi Everyone, Not been on here for a while but we had the same problem, I've renewed both of our certificates with ipsCA and I had to manually install the up-to-date root kit on the servers. Followed their instructions for the Global CA and Intermediate CA, once these are installed teachers connecting to the OWA address were no longer getting the "This is not a trusted site" message however when I returned to work on the Monday morning everybody inside the network were getting the "this is not a trusted site" message even though WSUS had installed all its updates. I went into the default domain GPO and added the Global CA to the Trusted intermediate certificates store This means upon a restart all the computers were picking this up. One finale thing was to create a zone in DNS so that when users inside went to the https://our-domain.com it would automatically point to the internal address rather that going out and then back in. Could anybody help me with this problem? "PHP Warning: Module 'mysql' already loaded in Unknown on line" We have a Windows 2003 64x running Moodle and Joomla however since installing joomla I've had to turn on the extension=php_mysql.dll in my PHP.ini. But now when I'm logged into moodle it returns the above error message. Has anybody resolved this problem or could the advise me on what next to try... Regards Matt Gibson

But that's the only difference, I've set-up all this before on our old server. I've installed a new server running Exchange 2007 & IIS6 but i can for the life of me get it to work. Followed all the on-line walk-through's step by step!! Any suggestions would be great?

I am a Windows systems admin who has very little experience with PHP beyond the basic install and ini file. I am trying to make PHP 5 work inside a Windows Server 2003 x64 server using IIS6 and just cannot seem to get there. The walkthroughs I have found have all proven ineffective. I wonder if anyone here has any experience or tips they can send me. I am reading reading reading, which is always a good thing, but a push in the right direction would be appreciated. does it all have to be x64 ? or are you using x32 apps?

Has anyone attempted installing moodle on Windows Server 2003 x64? I have been on google all morning and not found any suggestions. On option would be to tell IIS 6 to run as x32 but I don't want to do this as I have exchange 2007 running on the same machine. Anybody else attempted this? Cheers Matt

Whats happened to the channel 4 OD service? I got in from work cracked opened a beer to catch up with Inbetweeners and all the download buttons have gone and half of the stream buttons wont work? Wend to the channel 4 website to re-install and you can only use the service through the website (which is very limited!!) I personally preferred the 4OD compared to all the rest

Has anybody successfully integrated an Apple workstation to a CC3 network? I'm looking at maybe getting Apple Mac's for the ART department but not too sure on how. Do you install the applications locally? is there a build process. Be good if someone can point me in the right direction....

Well i'm glad everyone else has had the same treatment. I guess they would do a clean install but for extra money. I personally think its the wrong way of doing this process, Why have I paid RM to come in and run Symantec Backup Exec when I could have done it myself LOL! I've come to the conclusion it's cutting corners and they're just saving some dosh. I'll let you know the out come !
