Cheers Guys, I am back on site this morning to join 70 Laptops to the domain, should be fun (not). I will look again at this desktop re-direction issue, and see if I can solve it.

Just upgraded from 2k3 to 2k8 R2, all the clients are XP, the school had desktop redirection enable to show the same desktop for all the pupil users, I cannot get this to work on the 2008 box, any idea's or tips that can be the problem. I have set the paths etc it GP User > Folder Redirection > Desktop but it still refuses to work. Idea's anyone.

Morning All, I am hoping that somebody can offer some assistance to a school that I have recently taken over looking after but have been having some problems with their 2k3 DC. Every couple of days the server just locks up, the only way to get it going again is a hard reboot, Event ID 4016 & 4004 entrys in the DNS log indicate a problem with DNS & AD, however I have had a look around and all seems in order. Event log is below:- The DNS server timed out attempting an Active Directory service operation on DC=33,DC=1.168.192.in-addr.arpa,cn=MicrosoftDNS,DC=ForestDnsZones,DC=School,DC=local. Check Active Directory to see that it is functioning properly. The event data contains the error. Basic layout is: 23k Server ---> Cache Pilot Box -----> Internet and suggestions or advice on where to look next for a solution... Cheers Paul
