The WJEC here in Wales provide a guide and a Handbrake preset for this. It nukes the quality but they're fine with that. https://www.wjec.co.uk/media/ovwgxias/video-batch-process-v1.pdf

Hi Guys, Just wanted to add to this as we've been hounded by some of our teachers to have this installed (they had it on their old staff laptops apparently, before my time). It's so they can do marking for the WJEC outside of their day job. We remembered seeing something online a while back saying it should not be installed on work devices. Of course, typical we can't find the document again today. So my colleague decided to call the WJEC application support team. It turns out the teachers are told not to use work devices at all, the WJEC went as far as telling us that it's in their contracts with them, to not use a work device! They mentioned things like conflicts of interest and protentional data breaches as the reasoning. Before we saw that document many months ago, we did start doing what most of you are talking about here, trying to get the damn thing working on our network! But now it's an easy one for us, no! Check your contract. Hope that helps some of you! AB

+1 for Sign In app! Had quotes for Inventry and Entry Sign years ago - sluggish and expensive! Sign In app blew us away! And since it's early days, they've developed it loads! I believe they've just bought out another sign in company too, Swipedon I think it was...

Honestly not checked. The teacher in question activated their account and said it all worked, haven't heard from them since [emoji4]

I created an account the other day, fully prepared to pay for a Pro license, just so we could create and assign 1 license to 1 teacher. Was informed by support back in June that you had to have at least 2 Pro licenses to have an admin portal and be able to create and assign users licenses. Created the account and found that not only did the primary account not need a Pro license and be on the basic plan, I could create users also just on the basic plan. Just ticked the box that asked if we were an educational institution. Not sure if that made a difference... I'm sure there's also a csv upload feature.

We have had similar issues in the past with 4200. But since the latest PC refresh and with hardware decoding turned on, it does work somewhat stable (as stable as HikVision software can be!!). What hardware are you running? My current annoyance with the software is the pain it is to make updates on every client whenever there are changes to the cameras or NVRs. Which during our ongoing analogue to IP project (spreading costs [emoji17]), is testing my patience. I only asked my supplier today for HikCentral prices for 128 cameras (secondary school, multiple outbuildings), nearly £4k! Not happening! [emoji51] Not been able to find any reliable 3rd party software, if anyone does I'd be interested to try!

Not sure what calendar your seeing but parents and students can see the sims diary. With the categories that you have selected on the admin page.

Used to use a hacksaw but bought one of those a couple months back. Clean cut, much easier!

Hi Colin, We are getting all sounds coming through the internal speaker. Of course, when we plug in headphones, the internal one cuts off, but that is not a solution when headphones won't always be plugged in! Help! Thanks, Arran

I REALLY do not want to have to open up the case of 100 machines to unplug this damn speakers!

+1 For Paxton Net2! Very reliable here, had a few issues with setting the printers up on the server initially, but has been great since! And yes, have a relay connected to one ACU. Also have a relay attached to all the maglocks too. Just wish all the staff would make sure they sign in/out all the time! -_-

Thought Spotify couldn't be used in schools? Against their T&Cs isn't it?

We bought these just before xmas for around the £150 mark for a pack of 10, not surprised at all to find they have now gone up to £350! Supply and demand for you ey'! https://www.btowstore.com/epages/Store2_Shop1656.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/Store2.Shop1656/Products/Bel0062 Our usual re-seller is unable to supply us with any and we were a bit unsure about using Bela, but they all turned up OK and came with free nibs! Just wish we could start replacing the IWBs themselves! - Ahh nice new building at some point in the next 5 years, so new TVs everywhere!
-
^^^ Ughhh HWB Just glad my school aren't using it! The odd member of staff have asked for access to retrieve materials etc from other local schools. Interested to see what Google will do to it!

Surface / Surface laptop? Our SLT all have them.

We replaced the hdds in our 15 music macs over the summer for ssds. We needed to use these adapters: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005PZDVF6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_gbA5zbR4Q5KV9 We had to use those as the sata and power connector weren't lining up. Borrowed the suckers from the science dept and already had a set of torx Quite easy, just rather tedious. Then cloned the drive from the hdd. Just had to make sure we enabled trim support afterwards.

Eclipse Library System moved to hosted and now very slow

Same thing here. We moved to the HTML5 hosted version and the performance has massively decreased! -
Do you have https interception? Do you have to press I accept or similar when going to a secure site? I found out what was stopping it working for me was the https interception getting in the way. Had to wait ages for the LEA to sort it -_-

Best way to set up facebook page/business
thebyronic replied to Shadow_Walker's topic in Cloud Services
Ahh yes. I have heard that the Wiki generated pages are prooving quite difficult to take ownership of. Luckily for us the page that we claimed was a check-in page. Sorry I couldn't help with that one. If I find anything useful, I'll post back here. -

I followed this https://m.facebook.com/help/168172433243582 Then https://m.facebook.com/help/249601088403018?helpref=faq_content They wanted proof of ownership of the auto page, sent them a bill with the schools address on and it was all sorted in about 2 days. At the same time they verified our page and put a blue tick on it! Happy days. -

We just created a ' IT Support' account that manages the page and groups that we have. You can then create accounts for other staff (who may need to have access) and promote them to Mod or Admin.
