  1. We've got transparent proxy set up. Got most of them in the block rule. At this point, I'd be happy to get even one of them to be blocked.
  2. Hi all, We've been asked to block kisskh on our Smoothwall, I've got the urls in a block policy, which I've moved to the top while I'm testing, and an HTTPS decrypt and inspect policy (also at the top). The Policy tester says the site should be blocked. But when I test it, the site loads fine most of the time. Occasionally it will blocked, but then it will start working again if I close and reopen the browser. The only thing I see in the webfilter logs is https://media.themoviedb.org whcih is blocked anyway. Any ideas?
  3. We just changed all shortcuts and links to point to our SharePoint staff homepage instead.
  4. I'm having some trouble trying to get the Cisco WebEx softphone working. All the firewall and filtering rules are set up on our Smoothwall as per this article: https://help.webex.com/en-us/article/WBX000028782/Network-Requirements-for-Webex-Services and it mostly works (it's connected to our system enough that I can see my call logs), but can't "sign in to the phone services". Before I call the phone company's support, does anyone know of anything obvious I might be missing? Thanks, all!
  5. Easiest option might be to get a breadboard and do it IRL.
  6. Didn't the last test get pushed back because of the football?
  7. But by your logic we could include the 14 previous versions of android? Also how are we defining killed? With something like xbox there's nothing stopping people from still using it.
  8. Cool, hopefully it will actually come through to my phone this time.
  9. For us, the point of EWP was a locked down, distraction free, writing app for use in exams with a really robust backups. And it doesn't sound like that core functionality is being changed/removed. But I'm probably being pretty old-school here. If it wasn't in version 1, we don't really use it.
  10. It would be really cool to see the Sycamore Gap on one of the new notes. I'm confused. Are you trying to photocopy money?
  11. The last time we looked VeryPC were practically the same price as refurbs. OP might be lucky as have an April financial year-end like us.
  12. In our case, because we don't want to have to make the DSL and SLT helpdesk agents.
  13. I think you can ask co-pilot to make you Power Automate flows, or at least get you started.
  14. Same machy, we've got a form going into a Power Automate/flow that uses Approvals for the different sign-offs before going the IT team (we also have it write to a spreadsheet for logging). Only gotcha we have is that it's used so infrequently these days the flow keeps turning itself off.
  15. This feels rather pertinent. So perhaps taking phones/cigs/whatever away during the school day isn't about just stopping them for 8 hours a day, but showing them there's a better way to make connections and that they can just be with themselves and their friends without needing to be on their phones.
  16. But before you can teach them about all that stuff you need students to put down their phones and pay attention in class. I wonder how we could do that?
  17. Or PD/PSHCE as it's less technical and more "life skills". Either way it's not like there's lessons where the kids aren't doing anything, so you'd wind up having to replace something currently being taught.
  18. Isn't the main point that they're locked so as to remove temptation. Like those restaurants where you put your phone in a safe for the duration of the meal.
  19. Microsoft Translate lets you download languages for offline use, but I don't know if it will have the same problem as the google one.
  20. when you say "1 failed interactive board" does that include projector replacements. If so, then I can see why the head wouldn't want to loose that kind of reliability. 😊
  21. I get apple TV, but why Sony? Were they part of the original production?
  22. We use Sora. https://soraapp.com/
  23. Personally, I think it's the 2 year waits between seasons that kills these sort of shows.
  24. You could try disabling QUIC protocol in Chrome. Having it on has broken Smoothwall HTTPS stuff for us in the past.
  25. We've done remote filtering and protection using Sophos endpoint before. It seemed to work pretty well.
