  1. Looks a good move, as long as you can stop Shaun from drinking all the profits, which based on the evidence from the Reading conference is going to be a difficult task:p
  2. Ooops, the links don't work any more.
  3. Thanks Soulfish, once my brain has detoxed from the excessive alcohol consumption I'll go through them, was hoping it would be tomorrow but got home to find the mrs has invited some of our friends round for a 'few' drinks tonight My liver, my poor liver....
  4. Are the powerpoint presentations going to be put online somewhere? My note taking after 4 hours sleep looks like spiders on acid, also after last night my memory is a bit fogged:o
  5. Finally got home after all the train delays (suicide jumper and an accident involving some graffiti artist idiots). Thanks for a great time all of you, special thanks to Dos_Box for the generous hospitality:D Now, can someone remind me who it was you were googling in the pub
  6. Aren't humans just machines anyway?
  7. It's available from 1st March: Also from Microsoft: Doesn't have to be in the same LEA.
  8. That's no good, they've only got 1 in stock, I was going to buy 2 for some earings....
  9. The bidding process finishes Monday 28th, I can't divulge pricing at the moment, but I'll PM you when I can.
  10. Our Schools Agreement runs out end of Feb unfortunately, so can't wait. I've got some very good pricing already (well worth sticking it on Buying Solutions - The National Procurement Partner for UK Public Services as an invitation to quote) but was hoping to be able to team up to get them to sharpen their pencils even more ;-)
  11. There will be a lot of people wanting to buy in April, but we're in March, I'm sure if you ask on here nearer the time there will be quite a few to team up with for an April order :-)
  12. Where you should start is doing some analysis on your network using Wireshark to find out what are causing the problems. VLANS aren't the whole solution, you need to clear out any unnecessary traffic first as you'll still have loading on your switches from this, even if you implement VLANs.
  13. Hi, Under the EES agreement we can team up as schools to get a better bulk purchase rate. Our current schools agreement runs out end of this month, so we will be purchsing for the 1st March. Are any other schools on here purchasing at the same time interested in doing a joint purchase?
  14. Keep paying in, it's still by far a better option then a private pension.
  15. Just to clarify, with SQL you can either licence by end user CALS or by per physical processor on the SQL server which doesn't require end user CALS.
  16. You buy a per processor licence for SQL.
  17. You still need to purchase the server licenses either on the same agreement or you could buy them as a one off purchase through a select agreement. The ent desktop covers the connection cals, not the actual server purchase.
  18. The standard desktop cal includes the SCCM stuff, doesn't include the Forefront stuff though: the enterprise Desktop includes: win 7ent, Office pro plus, Exchange standard and ent cals, window server standard cals, sharepoint standard and enterprise Cals, all of the current components of the Forefront Protection Suite,Lync Server 2010 Standard CAL, Lync Server 2010 Enterprise CAL,Windows Server 2008 Rights Management Services CAL, Forefront Unified Access Gateway 2010 CAL and all of the current components of the System Center Client Management Suite. Forefront Protection Suite Forefront Protection Suite is versionless and product use rights are those in effect during the term of corresponding Enterprise CAL Suite Software Assurance coverage. A subscription to Forefront Protection Suite consists of the following online services: Forefront Client Security, Forefront for Office Communications Server (formerly Antigen for Instant Messaging), Forefront Online Protection for Exchange (formerly Exchange Hosted Filtering), Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange Server, Forefront Threat Management Gateway Web Protection Service and Forefront Protection 2010 for SharePoint Server System Center Client Management Suite System Center Client Management Suite is versionless and product use rights are those in effect during the term of corresponding Enterprise CAL Suite Software Assurance coverage. Another bargain is the System Centre Suite, £18 for std, £50 for ent: Comprehensive solution for end-to-end management of physical and low-density virtual server environments that includes the Enterprise Server management licenses for Operations Manager 2007 R2, Configuration Manager 2007 R2, Data Protection Manager 2010, Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2; Service Manager 2010; the Management Server license for Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2; the Management Server License for Data Protection Manager 2010; and, rights to manage up to four (4) Virtual Operating System Environments (VOSEs) plus the Physical Operating System Environment (POSE) provided the POSE is limited to supporting the virtualization capability.
  19. So, I'm looking for a group with a male/female ratio of 20:1 having an argument about which custom rom is best for their chosen smartphone....
  20. That's a very good point maniac, I have a couple of contracts in my sights...
  21. It really depends on the school, some will hardly benefit financially, others who are heavily top-sliced by the LEA will benefit greatly.
  22. Yep, I'm staying over both nights, so I can attend both 'networking' meetings Just need to know time and place and I'll be there...
  23. So, did you find any apart from your MIS supplier who wanted money off you?
