Well, after posting this last night, I got a phone call from Capita support first thing this morning about the problem and they have found an error in the logs at their end :-)

They do, you have to save at the end of each pupil and they are only tick boxing from set comment banks. When it happens, they may do a class of 30 and random ones out of the 30 won't have saved. You can't move onto the next pupil without saving, so it's not user error. Edit: Just to add, this is a select group of users who are testing the system, definitely not the type of teachers you would expect to be having problems. I'm usually really happy with the support I get from Capita, but this one I just feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall.

Ok, I've been banging my head against a brick wall with this one for a few months now. Using profiles through Capita hosted Sims Learning Gateway we randomly have problems where a teacher completes a profile, saves it, no error messages appear and it appears to save, continue on writing the profiles and saving, come in next day and a load of their reports haven't saved. This is very intermittent and completely random as to which teacher it happens to. No errors on our server or firewall, Capita claim nothing wrong at their end. They claim the sessions are timing out, in which case why the chuff doesn't it throw an error at the client end and why can the teacher still continue accessing data and writing further profiles? Anyone else come across this?

You activate the same as your Select Agreement licences, so using an internal KMS server. You will need to change the licence keys to the ones issued through the EES agreement to stay 100% within licence terms.

There is a System Centre Management Suite bundle you can buy under EES, which gives you all the System Centre products. It's available in Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter version depending on how many servers you're managing. Think Std is around £18, Enterprise around £58 and I don't know for Datacenter.

I got below £40 for enterprise on 147 FTE, would recommend sticking your request on buyingsolutions.gov.uk as an ITQ and then haggle ;-)

I'n my experience, you're much better off using the HUP programme rather than the Work at Home for two reasons. First, the teachers sign the agreement for HUP and so they are liable for any breaches, second, they get downloadanble or physical media directly from Microsoft so you don't have to mess around with it at all.

Ignore this thread, after speaking to Microsoft again, yes you can do a bulk purchase if you combine schools, BUT, there must be some legal form of connection with the schools, such as in the same academy group, same LEA etc.

Yes, I was on the old SO2 scale, when the single status review was done they changed the grading scales so that the top scales of SO1 and the bottom scales of SO2 were combined and the top of SO2 and bottom of PO1 were combined. We have different scales for ICT/Network managers in our LEA depending on size of network, responsibility etc and they tried combining the top two of these into one on the lower of the two new scales. A bit of prodding from us on the higher JD to HT's and the council had this decision reversed so I went onto the SO2/PO1 grade and ended up with a bacdated payrise.

The Highway Code is not law, it quotes some part of the law but it is just a guide. Overtaking on the nearside is not an criminal offense, you are however likely to be charged with driving without due care and attention or dangerous driving. It really does depend how you overtake on the nearside, if you have all the tailgaters in lane 3 and you have been cruising along in lane 1 at a steady speed and nearside overtake then plod is unlikely to take much notice. If you steam up behind a lane 2 hogger, swerve to Lane 1, accelerate, go past leaning out the window remonstrating at driver in Lane 2 and then pull pack out into lane 2 cutting up the car, then plod will take a very dim view of this. There have also been rare incidences of a lane 2 hogger reporting being overtaken on the nearside to the police and then finding themselves in court for driving without due care and attention/obstruction

Oh and if doing a level 1 course, check if you have any Tesco Clubcard points kicking around as you can use them towards the cost of the course. Unfortunately you can't use them beyond level 1 now :-( You can also get grants from the OU to help with the cost as well.

You can do them in any order you want, however level 2 courses build on stuff learnt from level 1 courses, but if you have a general understanding of the area of study already it's not usually a problem. It's more difficult when doing level 3 courses before the level 2 courses. Edit: Just to add, if you haven't studied an academic course for a while, it would be worth doing the level 1 first to get you back in the ways of academic study. Also, don't take too much on at once with the OU, it's more time consuming than it looks ;-)
