You only need to do port mirroring if you are looking for traffic going to/from a specific port, so you may need to set that up on your switch if you need to look at traffic going to the internet or a specific location. If it's general broadcast stuff, every nic will receive it so worth checking that out first.

The long answer - You don't need to be a programming expert to teach programming, you need to get the kids enthused about the idea and then back off and give them space to experiment and learn. My teacher for A Level Computer science back in the late 80's was a Physics teacher, had no knowledge of programming and basically taught himself alongside us as it was his first year of teaching it and had been given no formal or academic training on programming. What he had in abundance was enthusiasm to get us to experiment and learn, he also encouraged us to teach each other and show off new ideas and techniques. Out of a class of 12, 9 of us got A's and that was in an era when getting an A at A level was extremely difficult.

I use Deezer, but that's because I use it through my phone and is free with my Orange contract. Find it much better than Spotify on my phone, offline music caches better and can be stored on SD card, there isn't so many missing artists. Only downside is the Orange deal doesn't let you use the PC app, but I have my phone on a little docking station anyway and find it more convenient.

We have a TMG box and a Smoothwall UTM. The Smoothwall is in a different league as far as filtering goes, also has much better reporting and the support on the whole is very good. It also generally does what it's told, unlike the TMG box where you have to sacrifice a chicken/goat/ipad to get it to actually do what you've told it to do. The only area the TMG box wins is in having slightly more advanced reverse proxy facilities, so if you're publishing multiple internal websites across different web servers then TMG is better for that. Smoothwall have only just released reverse proxy as a beta, it works but doesn't have the same flexibility that TMG has. We are basically decommissioning our TMG box as we can now do everything we need on the Smoothwall.

The 5406 doesn't support acting as a DHCP server. The ip helper address points to servers on your network providing ip allocation or boot services, so it points to your dhcp server and if you for instance have a network boot server you would also point to that.
