  1. Your plan makes sense, but you still need to have some means of taking a backup off-site, either by backing up to the cloud or to tape.
  2. In the configuration of MSE you can set the max cpu usage, if you drop that down it should solve the problem.

I would look at proximity cards over biometrics. We're with Ricoh direct, only one I can think of you've missed is Xerox
  5. I think the batch of entries before your first UP TO HERE deserve extra large sweetie deliveries
  6. Hi Millgate lot, I hope Luke has stopped wearing his mankini in the office. When I can remember my Twitter account details, I'll add you.
  7. Lesson to self, never do back of fag packet calculations while dealing with a support call. Yes its 200,000 or so.
  8. So, that works out roughly as the Income Tax and NIC of 1 million people on the national average wage, another interesting statistic.
  9. Ooops, so it has, still a pretty good deal though on 3 though. Also if you get good coverage in your area the speed is far better than I've seen off other providers, in fact in our current house it works better than our FTTC broadband most of the time.

  11. It's cheaper on 3 to get a cheap smartphone and use tethering, for £15 a month they do a 12 month sim only contract with unlimited data and allows tethering.
  12. If you're using SIMS, couldn't you do this in Exams Organiser with external candidates? I think most of the MIS exams systems will support external candidates.
  13. Yes, but the trouble is the US Patriot Act and the NSA trump EU Safe Harbour, so EU Safe Harbour is pretty much a waste of time.
  14. The widescreen monitors are brilliant for assessment stuff, he wont want to go back to 4:3 after he's used one for a bit, just make sure you get one with a decent resolution.

I don't think they're giving the engines full beans yet, I'm sure they'll be plenty loud enough. Yes the Mercedes looks good, the McLaren looks pretty good as well, plus they've got some nifty rear suspension which is going to be difficult to copy. I've a feeling its going to be Mercedes vs McLaren for the title. It looks like Renault may have really messed up with their engine, they're certainly already playing catchup to the Merc engine. Oh yes, we also have the Toro Rosso with the nose inspired by the Ann Summers catalogue

Bit of Zombie Resurrection since testing has started;) So, what do peeps think of the sound of the new engines - http://youtu.be/lqpGvwRdUi4 I quite like it, growling rather than the high pitched scream of the V8's and I like the turbo whine:cool: However, the cars with their stupid noses F1 cars are meant to be beautiful, these are just fugly
  17. I now put my smartphone to the left of my keyboard after several attempts at trying to use it as a mouse.
  18. We email them, if they ignore it then I write it on a post it note, stick it on the baseball bat and pay them a visit:mad:
  19. Don't forget to cost in the extra bandwidth needed on your internet connection.
  20. We did, trialled it for a year, ditched it and went with TASC Insight.
  21. Be very careful with this, the original pricing was extortionate (worked out at over double our MS EES) and schools kicked off about it. Since then Adobe have offered a discounted rate which yes works out about the same as the MS EES, but they refuse to say if the discounted price will be maintained so you may find your annual subscription more than doubles at some point in the future.
  22. Storage server is only supported as a client, not as the main backup server.
  23. Have a look at the APC Netshelter CX. In a previous non edu job we used a few of these when they were Kell Systems racks and you could get the cooling built into the rack and vented out through a pipe in a wall, with filters etc on. They're not cheap, but do the job very well.
  24. Can't see any problem with this, I mean from that list, I'd vote for Slagathor Le-Dash-A
