Well, that didn't go quite to plan, managed 2 out of 3, I got cramp in my thighs after the first hill Pen-y-Ghent and it kept coming back, just about managed Whernside but couldn't get my legs to work to walk up Ingleborough so had to pull out :-( The temperature didn't help, it was blazing hot with absolutely no cloud cover for any respite. I'm planning to make another attempt to do it later in the summer or next year, really disappointed but I'm determined to crack this.

Most SSD's such as the Samsung ones have hardware encryption which can integrate with bit locker, so you don't necessarily need a TPM module.

Yes, usually a problem if the server is 64-bit and the client 32-bit, but I've also seen it where the drivers fail to update of the client.

Check your driver versions on your server and your client PC's have exactly the same version number.

My previous post is probably a bit unclear, from the Adobe guidelines you count any staff working at least 200 hours per year, there is no definition of what Adobe mean by part-time, so using the uk gov definition that is anyone working less than 35 hours per week. As you divide part-time faculty staff by 3 and part-time non faculty staff by 2 and can also exclude non information workers (cleaners etc), you may find that the Adobe EEA works out cheaper than you think Edit: big hint, look at your teachers contracted hours

Just so you're aware, on the Adobe EEA agreement it states that you have to count everyone who works over 200 hours per year and can exclude non knowledge workers. There isn't a definition in the agreement of what they class as part-time, unlike MS EES, but does allow you to divide by 3 for part-time faculty staff and divide by 2 for other part-time staff in the staff count.

8gb RAM is a very low amount of RAM for a server, especially if you're virtualising, probabaly too low to split your servers as you'll need memory for the Hyper-V server, then memory for each As for virtualised DC, if you're sticking with 2003 R2 then the recommendation is to have one physical. If you're upgrading to 2012 R2 then go virtual as that is fully supported and changes in how AD works means you no longer have to worry about timing issues.

It really depends on the school tbh, your first NM position is likely to be in a smaller school with maybe 1 technician, where NM will still be a very hands on role with a little bit of management. As you move up to bigger schools you tend to spend most of your time on management, strategy, policies, R&D with very little day to day technical work. If your in an Assistant NM role at the moment then your NM should be providing cpd to move get you in a position where you are capable of being a NM. As for other training, Microsoft qualms and Prince 2 are common things to do. You do need strong interpersonal skills and very broad shoulders, plus have to accept that it's no longer your job to be fixing problems etc, so if you are very hands on and that is the main aspect of the job you like, then the step up to NM won't always be what suits you.

Have you mentioned to the Vet that he has eaten slugs and snails, I'm not a vet but the symptoms you describe could be Lungworm. Hope he gets better soon poor lad.
