Zoology (in 2022 the department will merge with Plant Sciences to become the Department of Biology), 11a Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3SZ This is a unique opportunity to take on new challenges with a team that will, by sometime in 2024, provide IT support for the largest building in the University’s science area. This role involves working with a strong team to provide effective technical support for our department, with a particular focus on the teaching elements. The role will grow over time, as we merge with Plant Sciences to form the new Department of Biology and as we prepare for the move to our new home in The Life and Mind Building. The ability to foster a team approach to troubleshooting and exploring novel solutions is essential. Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills, the ability to tailor communication to a range of stakeholders, excellent attention to detail, the ability to work methodically and interpret standard procedures and sources accurately, also the ability to develop good working relationships with a range of people. The team is a group of skilled individuals, each with their own facets of expertise, with an intrinsic culture of sharing skills and knowledge to develop teammates. Try driver updates on the laptops (specifically the WLAN drivers), a lot of them don't support 802.11ax without an update.

-
Watch out for drivers too, we found some needed updates.

Ethernet probably won't enable while the device has a WiFi connection.

You need to push the MDM profile to disable USB Restricted Mode. Doesn't help you with your locked iPad but will get you out of a jam in future - your previous method should then work (it does for us).
-
Banks promise to underwrite contactless payments if the card is stolen - fine with me, potentially can use Pay at Pump without touching the pin pad.

Are you on o2 or an MVNO that uses them? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-51008775 -
There was some myth that if enough 1-star reviews were given that it would be removed from the platform's App Store. This spread like wildfire and kids all around the world theorised that they then wouldn't have to do any work if they couldn't use the App any more.

You can do it this way and it works, or you can use conditional access in the Azure portal if you have an Azure AD P1 or P2 licence.

I bought a few of these for such luddites. https://www.token2.com/shop/product/token2-c200-hardware-token Only given one out so far.

We are in the process of rolling out for all, staff were already onboarded, but have extended to include on-site. We're an iPad 1:1, so MS Authenticator for us. The risk is, if you have a compromised workstation, weaker student accounts can be used to glean information about who to target for phishing attempts, and an innocent looking email to a member of staff from a student containing a phishing link is enough to gain access to your MIS.

I get a solid 6 hours a night in the week, and once I'm in bed, I'm asleep. I'm ready to sleep at 10 usually. Weekends, I can sleep 12 hours no problem.

I'm always very tired at the end of the day, but I put that down to a 4:30am alarm clock, a couple of hours in the gym, a commute, a full day, a return commute, household chores (dinner etc.). I don't think I need a doctor!
