Yep, it works fine, it just sets them all to a .onmicrosoft.com domain (not sure whether that's because it doesn't know or whether that's just because that is my default domain in Office 365). Then when I activate and licence them I just set them to the correct UPN in the Portal (soon to be moving to a script when I finish testing it).

It doesn't answer your question, however I have migrated from DirSync to AD Sync and still haven't setup our internal domain name to match the Office 365 tenant, I still specify the UPN in the Office 365 portal when activating the users. In terms of adding the suffix to your domain, the instructions are fairly straight forward but no idea how it will impact on RMMC: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/cc772007.aspx

Hi all I'm a bit stumped on this one so hoping someone can help. I have 2 schools with separate Office 365 tenants, I'm currently hosting something for the 2nd school in the first and want to route mail through their tenant for that and thought about using my existing Postfix relay. I'm a little stumped as to whether or how I can setup Postfix so that it will route mail through different tenants based off the sender. Anyone able to help/advise? Thanks

Hi All I wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction as this has got me stumped and I'm not quite sure what I've done wrong. We've got a backup of the old CLEO hosted moodle which I've now restored to an in house server and the restore appears to have worked with a few tweaks apart from Course Images won't display unless you are logged in to moodle for some reason. If you log in, everything appears to work as normal so I'm not sure what configuration option is likely to be different or incorrect. It is an old 1.9 Moodle which I do intend to try and drag up to either 2.7 or 3 in the near future, but just for now I'd like it to work as it was. any help/advice? Cheers

I've also taken this up with the Support Desk in the past, the only other solution they could give me was to create a custom group/role in System Manager which has the View All permission for Marksheets, but that wouldn't just give you the Mock Results marksheet you want to show them but any and all Marksheets that exist in the system.Not ideal, but it was the only way I could work around the problem that I had.

Would it not be quicker to just do the sum manually? 68 week days, - 5 days for half term 63 days x number of periods per day x 5 which will give you your lessons occuring for y7-11 then all you need is your timetabler to tell you how many blocks are taught in 6th form on each day and how many subjects are in each block add them up for 64 days and then subtract the number that occur on a monday to bring you back down to the 63 days.

Not quite as cheap, but we recently bought a 55" tv from Aldi for use as a sign: Bauhn 55" Full HD TV £299.99 & 40" 4K Ultra HD TV £249.99 @ ALDI - Hot UK Deals For the price, we're not too worried if it doesn't last too long... It will see us through for a while hopefully until prices on that size and above start to come down a bit more.

Yeah it looks like that part so not sure then. Will have a chat with them about it. It's about £45 they charge us for doing it if they can, if they can't then no charge. I've that much going on at the moment that for the price I am happy to pass it on to someone else to do and get sorted rather then spend the time dismantling and faffing around with a power connector. Wondering if anyone cna point me in the right direction - I have a Lenovo laptop which is just over a year old with a damaged power connector. Normally I would take it to a local company who do a good job for a reasonable price, however in this case they are struggling. It's one of the new style square/rectangle shaped power connectors - anyone able to recommend someone else who I'd be able to try and get a repair done for a reasonable price? I'm annoyed because otherwise the laptop is fine and I don't want to have to purchase a new one for something which should be a reasonable fix! Thanks

We just use distribution lists/mail enabled security groups which are set up in the Exchange control panel.

If it's under warranty I would send it in. Before I did though, and I'm not being funny I have been caught out by this before, but the wireless switch on the laptop is switched on? I've spent an hour working on a laptop which showed the wireless card there but wouldn't detect any networks because the switch wasn't on (where as I'm used ot the wireless card not being shown or being disabled if the switch is off).

Hi I'm creating a couple of Address Book policies and have followed this Alumni post https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/educloud/2013/04/15/alumni-address-book-policy-in-office-365-education/ and altered the attribute it looks at upto the point where you hide from the GAL. Everything works fine, except that if I click on Directory in the Webmail, it still lists all users in the directory rather then just the users in the Address List - have I missed something obvious somewhere? Thanks Edit: Never mind, all fixed. First day back and I've already become impatient!

I'm currently deciding on the same thing at the moment. I look after one school which after working, nudging and prodding over a few years now works pretty well. There's a couple of little things that I don't particularly like still, but to be honest they are mainly cosmetic and only bug me because I know they are there. Everything else works bob on. I'm now working at another school and the network works fine, but there are a few things that I am thinking would be far easier to rebuild the domain then spending a lot of time unpicking and doing again. The snag with this one is I don't have the funds to virtualise. What I have in my head is if I'm going to do this, I'll build a new server up as the domain controller for the new domain. Create a trust between the current and new domain, migrate all the files across and then spend the time to setup the structure and GPO's how I want. In the next major holiday (probably Easter) build a room across to the new domain for testing (not worked out the user side of this yet, that needs more planning as I haven't investigated it). Monitor that until May half term and then gradually move things across to the new domain as time allows, leaving the summer to complete what needs to be done. I'm probably going to decide exactly what to do after Christmas as I'm just too run down at the moment to think it through clearly. A domain rename and reverting the default GPO's might just do what I want but if I'm going to attempt a domain rename I go back to leaning more towards rebuilding from scratch. The best thing I learnt from nudging and prodding the first network was it all worked and so I could spend the time nudging and prodding. It's effectively been rebuilt now without doing the full domain rebuild but I could spend the time to do that and learn all the little quirks it has and iron them out. You have a great platform in that being virtualised (and hopefully with Veeam) you can do a hell of a lot and revert back fairly easily if something does go drastically wrong.

It's a bit of an odd setup at the moment, 2 domains on the same IP range but no trust between them (admin just runs on a selection of static IP's). As long as you are able to access the Sophos Server on your curriculum network from your admin network you'll be fine and no trust will be needed.

Hi all Can anyone help me workout the best way to do this, as I know what I want to do I just can't see how (I don't appear to have enough boxes to do it simply). I want to do: if result > +2 then it's + if -2 <= result <= +2 then it's = if result < -2 then it's - I can't use the else box, as if there isn't a comparison result for some reason (late entry, from another location, home schooled ect) then it currently get's left blank which makes sense in some ways but not in others. Am I being dumb? I feel like I'm an if then else short to be able to do it in SIMS....

Yep, you can (I've just started doing it at another site). I do it by connecting to the Sophos share from the Admin PC, running the installer and entering the Sophosupdatemgr user in the usual format of domain\sophosupdatemgr Then works the same as any other computer.

They were supposed to be releasing information about it on the schools portal and somewhere on the BT Lancashire site. I refused to close my call for several months until it was sorted so that I knew what was happening...

They upgraded it to the latest version not too long ago (because I was chasing them more and more). Chrome can use the HTML5 client, Firefox and IE both work with the java client. Link to the HTML5 login page can be found on http://desktop.cleo.net.uk

I do and pushed it out via Group Policy Preferences.
