Thanks Cyber nerd BUT.. I'm guessing that you do not have CC3 on your network! I could well use your script in the future but at the moment even if I did run it CC3 would throw a wobbler as it seems to insist that the users home directory is on a CC3 server!

Sorry to bring this thread back to life but I never managed to map the users areas to another server via CC3. In the console the profile location and home directory are non editable. If I edit the folders in active directory/ users and computers it still doesn't work. If however I create a user in active directory and then point that user to a different server and log in on a non CC3 machine on domain it works fine! Any ideas! Thanks

I managed vto get our hosts to restore from a backup. Thanks dreamhosting.co.uk. I did have a play with phpmyadmin as suggested by keithu and found that the hacker had changed the log on name and email address to his own! I changed the email address back to mine and then went through the lost password procedure to change the password back to mine. That way I did not have to bother with password hashes. i guess I need to upgrade joomla now from 1.5.3 to 1.5.7 to try to protect it from more bored turkish hackers. Thanks

My school site has been attcked (cannot put certain word beginninng with H as then it gets filtered b y our provider!) the site by p@3t_b@y runs joomla 1.5. Someohow somebody has managed to log on as an administrator, add an article and then change the admin passwoird so I can now no longer log on! HELP! The site is externally hosted but all other bits'n'pieces seem fine on the server so I guess I had a vunerability with my joomla package that I had not upgraded to. Bugger. Does anyone know what this vunerabilty may be so I could use it to get back on and change the password back? Or does anyone know how I could get round this by maybe installing Joomla again and then linking it back to the original joomla database? Thanks

Yup I got one about a year back. Great for weatching sky+ in bed on my laptop or even better watching sky on my nokia mobile while waiting in bus queues or the doctors waiting room. Only problem is when I am trying to watch something and my kids come home from school and we fight over what to watch!

Thanks for all the opinions so far. I have controlled a vanilla network before but I have never had to set one up from scratch so I guess I do need to do a lot of research into security using gpo's etc.

I have been given the go ahead to completely replace all of our ageing CC3 servers. Now what with I don't know! I'd like to go vanilla or maybe ranger as I have used it before mostly good results. I'm just not sure I am confident enough to go the complete vanilla windows 2003 route. Perhaps someone could reassure me just how easy it really is? Iv'e been using CC3 for 6 months now and it really has sucked out all the active directory knowledge from my head.

@bossman... If I'm being honest I don't know! A member of staff has been converting youtube videos to show the students and her reaplayer 11 works at home but our older version does not. I'll galdly take that codec package off you if you would be kind enough to give it to me. Thanks

Hi All, We had a mac suite, complete with Xserve and a 4TB SAN attached, over the summer and nobody quite knows what to do with it. BUT I have an idea! That lovely big SAN, with robotic backup, could house my users home directories as we are running out of space on our CC3 server. The problem I have is that when I change their home folder in active directory they still get their old folder. When I then do a health check from the management folder CC3 puts their old folder back as their home folder! Am I missing something or does CC3 not like this? Thanks:D

We currently have a free LEA provided email system, desknow, but as we have exceeded our 3GB mailbox limit we are going to be charged £360 per annum and another £60 per Gig. Now I know that that isn't too bad when you compare it to buying and installing an exchange server and adding all the spam/filtering to it BUT I have been informed that we have no money for this sort of thing and I need to find a free alternative! Now we are a small secondary with about 150 staff who do not use the email that much at the moment as there has been no policy in place to ensure that they are using it, which I intend to change. Can anyone suggest which way I could go with this? Google mail for schools, Zimbra or something else? Thanks

I am currently waiting for a mac tech to install an xserve for us. He has asked me to set up a dns entry for iton our dns server. I am having problems as I cannot add an Host (A) record in the second domain prenton]high.internal as seen in the attachment. I can add one in the domain ad-prent.admin which then has a dns address of mac.ed-prent.admin but I need it as mac.prentonhigh.internal. I just dont get the options when I right click on prentonhigh! Can anyone help me out ? Thanks
