  1. Correct. We have several split families where the separated parent, usually the Dad, does not have parental responsibility - and therefore we don't tick that box - but Mum or the court has granted them rights to log onto our Parent Portal and see attendance, behaviour, reports. Only Priority 1 parents get access to the Portal by default. We have a UDF for "override priority" which means a separated parent in P2 or P3 can be given access without making them P1. Sadly in this case, Parent 2 had "override priority" for their step-child, but the UDF is global for the parent so it also gave them override for Parent 1's child.
  2. I think Ruckus can achieve this by using Hotspot and setting a list of URLs; might Meraki have similar?
  3. We just reduced from asking for 4 contacts to asking for 2 contacts, following a GDPR training session our DPO went on. Our form is online so we can’t take signatures; not sure what we’re doing about that yet but we have recently fallen foul of the situation with someone not knowing they were a contact. Parent 1 gave their friend (also a parent - parent 2) as contact. Parent 2 as well as their own child is step-parent of child 3, so our own rules require us to tick a UDF to allow Parent 2 access to Child 3’s reports etc. Unfortunately that also gave Parent 3 access to Parent 1’s child because the logical rules all matched. They complained why they could see this child as they didn’t know mum had named them as a contact.
  4. I've got a personal shortcut to the Inventory console that crashes/freezes on me periodically. The shortcut actually runs a batch file that taskkill's the old process (whether or not it's running) then runs the new one.
  5. We've got a trial of Trilby.TV at the moment. Works well but there is a cost; depends how many displays you're wanting as to whether it's financially appropriate. Was all set to go Xibo but the docker thing is awful and the non-docker is throwing errors left, right and centre.
  6. And i'm in Keighley, but started my IT career at Castle Hall School in Mirfield, 13 years ago!
  7. Finally going to start using this from Mocks next month, having had it for playing with since May. How about templating the candidate screen from a separate .xml file, so as well as the centre no (which is static across all exams, so rightly in the config file) we can pre-prepare the following fields in a separate xml file and dump it in the root of the exam users area. AQA English Language 8700/1 Then all 20 students taking the same exam, when they're prompted with the candidate screen, they only have to fill in the candidate name and no; the rest is pre-filled. Exam officers could have say 20 .xml files in a folder somewhere labelled with each exam they know they're going to be using, then just copy/paste the right one into the exam area(s) of the candidates. Some rooms have 3 different exams at once, so they drop the right .xml in the right user areas. Peter
  8. Make sure you've added your ADFS url (eg sso.yourdomain.com) to the Intranet zone in IE. Peter
  9. Yes, if you’re logged onto Windows domain and have it setup right (!) you won’t need password to get into Google. If you’re at home accessing remotely you’ll still get promoted as you’re not on domain. It can take a bit of trial and error!
  10. By default all cells are protected, just the workbook isn't locked against edited. So if you try it out by locking it, you'll find you can't click anywhere!
  11. Any chance of that Powershell script?
  12. I do all my DBUpgrades as the SA user which you showed in your earlier screenshot before you unzipped it. Peter
  13. Those instructions are within the patch if you export it.
  14. Patch 23212 was the April17 version of the patch; it's re-released as a new patch with a new SIMS release.
  15. We use it across school. GSuite Edu for backups and photo sync, FoldR to get classes in. No other storage issues.
  16. Several schools in North Yorkshire are currently evaluating their position, getting quotes etc. This is a very useful thread which I'lll highlight to the team. I knew Bradford were currently going through it as NYCC, Bradford and (Sheffield?) are all due to renew Smoothwall in March and they've not got enough tin boxes at the moment! Most NYCC secondaries are renewing Smoothwall, but still deliberating broadband. Peter
  17. We use NRS SmartID. Print the card, it puts ID into Paxton and AD. Papercut currently syncs from AD but we're switching so it points at SmartID shortly.
  18. https://chocolatechips.me/projects/card2net2/ We use that to confirm Mifare to Net2 numbers.
  19. Hi, I'm a mod for the NYCC forum. We received mod request today, which says "A discussion thread has been created at http://www.edugeek.net/showthread.php?t=199744" - but when I go there I get access denied. I've handled the request anyway, but just thought I'd point it out for future thinking. Peter
  20. Thinking outside the box, should the question be "why isn't your MyDocs redirected to wherever you do have them saving (ie //server/studentshare/10kid/)?
  21. Same happened with lock & charge basket thread; it says Frazzle but it’s Fiza. Is it a zero-indexed vs one-indexed userid bug?
  22. I use Tapatalk on iOS when I’m reading EduGeek at home (which isn’t all that often) as I have other forums all in one place. Still not letting me post pics here so I’ll do them at work on desktop.
  23. (Will post pics later as it won't let me) On the subscriptions page (Tapatalk) it says "Frazzle99 posted new thread.... Anyone heard of Admissions+?" But the thread was actually started by Fiza.
