I'm pretty impressed with our staff. Of the 209 which have gone out, around 40 have forwarded or questioned them verbally. Only 17 have actually filled in their credentials; words will be had! (I asked permission to name and shame on the staff noticeboard, but that's been declined)

We're looking at Business Manager, not School Manager. Appears to still allow App Store and user-created Apple IDs, rather than the school-centric method that ASM uses. Peter

Software design is daft. It's not a client-server, so each client PC has the full software with its own user database controlled by its own admin password. Should be a client that connects to the NVR and uses the central admin password for auth and to manage users centrally. We've turned off motion-detection as it causes crashing/jumping on the video. Had some friendly chaps smash their car through our fence with police in hot pursuit; the car suddenly appeared on screen seconds after the chaps were out of the car running, so police couldn't prove who was driving.

Just been looking at Unifi this morning - to replace our Ruckus! The most northerly official reseller I can see is Castleford (ServersPlus).

RAC are just launching EV boosters with their breakdown vans. There is another breakdown company somewhere that has them, but I can't find which they are on Google. Otherwise as @IrritableTech says, they have to be flat-bedded to the nearest charger. Nissan offer this free of charge for 3 years plus renewed if you service with them; not sure what others do. Three years of Nissan Leaf driving not had it happen yet. I won't be going back to an ICE. (But nor will I be buying Tesla!)

Hello. Following a conversation on ransomware / spam / password security, I've been given permission out of the blue to block USB sticks completely. Not just require encryption, but to not allow regular staff to use USB sticks at all. All the threads I can find on Edugeek are about encrypting, but I know there are apps out there that deal with blocking USBs full stop, unless they're on an exceptions list. Does anyone use any of them? (I'm not on about physically disabling the USB ports, gluing them, frying them, removing them - I want a software management solution for them) Peter

Yeah - we fitted it last Easter, so just over a year (although we only actually fitted the last external AP this Easter!). Adam, do you use Radius? Me and Tim both have Ruckus and Smoothwall (NYCC) and Radius don't work. Might be worth popping up - was just seeing if you were nearer Smoothwall as we're both going on Tuesday.

Following. I'm near Leeds, currently 75 Ruckus APs but Ruckus, Radius and Smoothwall don't play nicely together. Recently deployed 5 Unifi (Nano HD) APs to play with - they're working great with Radius and what testing we've done. Need to test more with my colleagues and more devices (maybe an ICT class) and see, but i'm looking to use spare budget to buy 75 APs this summer, to roll out October Half Term.
