  1. It does indeed; a new client and new web portal for management.
  2. Definitely not an AI bot We've used v1 for quite a few years and have been very impressed with the differences. Not all modules from v1 are yet in v2 and there may well be some that aren't included but we use pretty much all aspects of it from the technical side, classroom management and safeguarding. It's definitely worth giving it a go.
  3. I don't think you'll be disappointed. We're not sponsored by Senso but are early adopters with over 25,000 clients. v2 is a complete ground up rewrite and we would recommend that everyone tries it. Broadcast has been completely rewritten and is so much faster as are the other modules.
  4. Ditto, did exactly that over the summer here with no issues. We were already running the latest version of PaperCut so I suspect that helped things a little although our database is on a separate SQL server which was also upgraded afterwards.
  5. We are indeed. Could you please email a copy of your CV to [email protected] and someone will be touch
  6. Another +1 for Senso.cloud. We use it on roughly 11,000 devices across all of the schools we support and it's been fantastic. Safeguarding, classroom management and a whole host of tools for network management too (remote scripts, software install, software/update checks etc).
  7. Hopefully it's okay to bump this :-) Still looking for people to join the team, experience of working in a school is beneficial but happy to welcome people without.
  8. Had a few enquiries so far but still time to apply :-)
  9. I've found that if iOS has been updated using the device itself then it tends to not connect and will need to be setup again. Also, we had to migrate to Apple Configurator 2 before iOS9 would start connecting to computers again.

  11. Been having the same issue myself recently and suspected a certificate just couldn't find where it was! Will try this out this evening. Thanks!
  12. If you feel you have the knowledge, some experience of what is required and think you're up for the challenge then it's always worth the giving it a shot.
  13. I've just purchased this to replace my ESXi 4 box as it's not up to the job for ESXi 5. HP 639260-035 ProLiant ML110 G7 Tower Server with £150 cashback from HP this month! | ServersPlus
  14. Unfortunately our LA seems to be a keen believer that SIMS is holy and should be feared amongst us mere mortals. I shall try Capita but being self employed they may be a little hesitant to help me out, we shall see
  15. Is there any chance I could trouble you for that please? Trying to get a setup done to do some Windows 7 testing in a seperate environment but all I keep getting is a message saying "Package Missing" for everything even though they are there in the setups folder I have copied from a working machine....
  16. Our classroom whiteboard machines and student laptops reached 6 or 7 years old this year. All being replaced as we speak (type?) so I suppose that doesn't really count....
  17. If you want to PM me with any questions about the job then I'll do what I can to answer them If I don't know the answer then I'll do my best to find out for you.
  18. I guess there's a limit to how long you can edit your posts so a couple of bits I forgot. Kayako eSupport Helpdesk setup and used to log all problems Junior Librarian setup in the library (the biggest in a primary school in the area I believe) in all classrooms and on all laptops Projector and PA system in both halls fed by a cabinet in each fitted with computer, CD player, wireless microphones and mixing desk. Amps locked away in server room Admin network of 9 machines, currently local profiles but testing roaming All curric machines running Office 2003, Admin machines running Office 2007 The usual GPOs, part-roaming teacher profiles and scripts etc Papercut NG used to monitor printers in each class and staff area
  19. I'm off to Hertfordshire for some new challenges and more schools to cover Spent nearly 6 years here and as it's my first job I feel it's time to move on. Good luck if you do
  20. The time has come for me to move on to pastures new so St. John's are now looking for a new Network Manager. Job Description here and Application Form here. Kent Teach ad here. A quick outline of the system: Windows Server 2008R2 DC Server 2003 Exchange server Server 2003 SIMS server All clients running Windows XP SP3 Microsoft WSUS used to keep all stations up to date McAfee ePO 4 to keep on top of the AV side of things 1 desktop computer per class (total of 22) with several desktops in staff areas 2 mobile Lapsafe trolleys with 30 laptops in each and a further 14 in the library All of the laptops are in the process of being replaced with Dell Latitude E5410s and the desktops are being replaced with Dell Optiplex 380s. A site-wide Ruckus install is taking place this half term so nothing to worry about there either. I'm bound to have forgotten something so ask away if you have any questions
  21. I'd be up for that. Getting a little weary of running dailies and heroics for new gear so a new start would probably liven things up a bit.
  22. If the money was that much of an issue then I would go for it personally. There is always a balance between being happy in a job and being able to afford to live but how happy can you be if you can't afford to keep a roof over your head and eat? A bit extreme I know but gets the point across I think
  23. I find the storyline quite good in WoW tbh. Admittedly you don't have to follow it but it is there if you want to
  24. Might not be any help but I setup an old laptop here with a very cutdown version of XP and then ran everything through Remote Desktop to a 2003 TS. Smartboard software and drivers are run locally but everything else is on the TS server, seems to run ok for the age of the hardware. Same kind of thing David is saying with moving a bit more to the terminal rather than the server, I just wasn't so sure on how people would find Linux and whether I could get the SMART software running on it.
  25. Is noone here on Shadowsong I gave up waiting for my copy of Cata to arrive yesterday and did the digital version instead. What do you all think about the new areas? I'm quite liking the journey to Vash and the whole area itself Quite surprised at how tough the new mobs are, as a L80 DK in tier 10 gear I still struggle against 4 or more
