Hello Everyone, We are just trialing what i thought was a great product. It installs like a dream, is super easy to use and ticks all the boxes we need. However, when using it we found that it couldn't find our wireless laptops and then discovered the broadcast / multicast settings that are needed. This doesn't work for a few reasons, a) we have 5 vlans, student desktop/wireless, staff desktop/wireless and server network. so straight away the 3 network options means we cant run it on all 5 vlans b) Broadcast traffic, it says in a manual I have been sent that my managed switches need to be configured to allow this traffic. Are you for real? Do i need to change all my switches for your software to work? c) If I am a techie who wants to use the tool for remote access I can use channel 0 (great stuff) but the the above vlan issue will stop it working how i need it to. Now I am wondering if I am completly wrong about all this and there is something I am missing, if anyone works in environment where you have this working, working well in a managed switch VLAN environment please let me know how you overcame these issues. Thanks Matt

Hello, We have LanSchool v8.0.0.42 installed across our site. Have both LanSchool Connection Server and LanSchool Report Server installed on separate servers. It all appears to be logging when you browse to the web interface but how do you go about exporting data from it? I can view and filter data but would like the following. How can I export websites visited by a single user export a list of students who accessed a certain website set e safety alerts It seems really laggy when browsing on the web interface. Anyone have any tips for getting data? Thank you.

An interesting one occurred yesterday when I was called out to fix a machine in one of out suites, one which I have not seen or read about before. The teacher had locked all the screens in a room using LanSchool which is common place. The worrying thing was a student that was still sitting there tatting on his PC. After a little bit of investigation it turns out that if you have a 3 button MS Mouse and the intellipoint software installed, if you click the middle button the instant viewer is displayed regardless of whether the screen is locked or not, thus allowing them to ge at anything that is currently open (and possibly the desktop). Thankfully for us we have decided that the intellipoint software is pretty pointless and we only installed it that one room So I just thought I'd make you all aware of this and we will be letting the people at lanschool know so they can look into it

Is it possible to set multiple channels using the CHANNEL= in the MSI installer? If I can get the LanSchool Connection Server to work the way I want I am hoping to distribute LanSchool to my teacher workstations. The problem is each department has anywhere from 1-3 laptop carts shared amongst the teachers so I want to put each cart on their own channel using the cart number and have the channels set so the teachers can just choose.

Hi, I have just been contacted by Impero. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with them or use them at your school. We currently have LanSchool in place but this is a very old version, I've been told I can upgrade it when I find the login credentials. I have had a look at some demos and doesn't look too bad. What are the pro's and con's in your opinion? What is it like compared to LanSchool, is there more functionality? What is the price of this and is it worth the investment? Thanks.

Hello, Is Microsoft Edge now a supported browser by LANSchool? Historically we have installed LTSB/LTSC versions of Windows 10 that do not make use of the modern browser with windows so have never had to worry about Edge. Looking at deploying Windows 10 1909 which would use edge but I can't seem to see if it's possible to manage web logs, block websites in edge using LANSchool? ALLOW_METRO_IE is mentioned on the switches of the msi install but I cant see if it actually installs an extension similar to chrome. Anyone have any experience with this? 8.0.2.54 is the version I'm using.
