Probrand Softcat Westwood Associates Ebuyer - trade account with online ordering/credit makes it easy to spec up and other things Are all my first point of contact for most things. I like them mainly because I can email them all Ebuyer/Amazon or other site links and get better quote back in minutes or they tell me deal is good price and to go with it.

It is supported if you have transparent proxy in place , you can turn on impero proxy option but if you rely on proxy settings to be entered in then Chrome isn't suppported as they don't have Chrome extension(IE BHO) option.
-
Maybe they will be announcing it at BETT this year ?
-
Hopefully they are working on it . It is the reason we haven't set chrome as our default browser currently.

Yes if parents have AD account this would work for them too.

We are just looking at this and impero YouID looks like good option as well as single sign on portal

Speed of Sky fibre optic for home
xenonive replied to Novalee's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Just email or phone Sky and ask them to look at it or retrain the line which take about 10 days and they are happy to do it , I've got 80mb sky fibre pro and was stuck at 40mb connection as exchange trained my line on the normal fibre package . Now get speed test up to 76mb and very low ping (10-15ms) on games -
You might want to consider that with tablets and chrome books they don't use anything in terms of wireless bandwidth unless they are all on media sites , I've had 65-70 iPads on on single HP wireless node and it was only using 10-15mb bandwidth as peak with all of them browsing for online research . If it was that many laptops logging on to a single node they would take a long time. Could be worth looking at scaling wireless back in terms of density if your going to lots of mobile devices and investing more in faster internet if you don't have so already .
-
Yes that is the exact you need then you only apply the GPO to the BYOD OU
-
Would also be better to add them all to a group then apply the group to all the laptops to save assigning one user per laptop unless you require only one local admin as assume other students won't be logging on to anything but their own laptop

I had similar thing with MSI laptop with atheros wireless card and managed to solve it with flashing bios with same version it had on but with wireless card enable before flash and it seemed to set the bios default to be wireless card on . Else maybe try restoring bios default settings first to see if helps

We have ours with machine using impero on it with mouse control via program called synergy , got a group for monitoring so if we need to fix issue with student/staff we can put them in the group and they will show up when next logged in if need to see what the issue is or apply remote fix. We also use it to play radio in the background

We found some splitter cables to have ghosting at higher resolutions , would be cheaper to get splitter cable but we use ours with 20m VGA for dual setup on halls so powered option for us just means we get that little boost on the signal
-
For powered option we use startech ones http://uk.startech.com/m/AV/Splitters/VGA-Splitters/2-Port-250-MHz-VGA-Video-Splitter-Distribution-Amplifier-UK~ST122LGB

Thanks , think I will restart it .
