Now got the whole house - with the expedition of the main bathroom kitted out in hue lamps. Works great for us.
-
The home / away feature is useful - i use IFTTT to auto set the alarm, turn on / off lights etc.

The tado can be controlled by the wall thermostat of course. But obviously you have to do that at home (you don’t need to sit in the cold until a smart phone user is home!)

I’ve only ever had it installed on the since house since heating day 1. And we moved from a draughty 100yr old 2 bed terrace to a 4 bed new build - the insulation / heat retention is a different world! That said I’m a tight Yorkshireman and my heating bills seem more than reasonable. I just leave the tado to do its thing. I have it on minimum warming for when I’m away - but sounds like you might want it on a more medium level to heat the house to your desired temp for when you arrive home.

Had tado since pretty much launch. At the time it was only one that fitted my needs. Since I fitted i don’t even think about the heating. It’s off when I’m out and on when needed when I’m home. I also use its geofunctions for other connected hardware and services.

One of our schools introduced us to it. We ( as IT professionals) thought it looked fantastic - just the type of thing we’d build. We wanted a school prospective though so arranged a demo for a headteacher - who was blown away but it. The original school have been using a year after converting from SIMS and wouldn’t ever go back.

A brilliant 15 minute flurry in Rotherham. Disappeared within minutes though.

Thanks I missed this. Good to know.

There used to be an option to have a rolling upgrade of them by pressing one button. They removed that a while ago I think.

Amazon Cloud Drive with unlimited storage now available in the UK
XiJ replied to Arthur's topic in Cloud Services
I’ll be ending my amazon cloud drive account. Was purchased for plex but that didn’t work out. And the client software / accession ACD was awful. -
Classic Shell no longer in development. Source code released
XiJ replied to Arthur's topic in Windows 10
Used it in win 8 and 2012. But in win10 / 2016 I don’t find the need. Brilliant software and massively helpful though. Good on the author to open source -
Sometimes it can take a while for O365 to process account changes - such as adding in rights management etc. Mine was pretty instant - 10 mins - but can take a couple of hours depending on feature you’re adding.

Exactly what we’ve done and followed that article. So easy!

And now you want to buy d-link, dismiss a product that is working successfully in hundreds (if not thousands )of schools from 4 class primaries to large secondaries.

Was very tempted by that last week. Only thing thing that stopped me was 3 hdmi (that and I’m supposed to be saving for a holiday!). I’d arguably not need more hdmi with all the built in apps

If I was looking for a new tv (and I always am!) I’d be looking at LG or Samsung. I have one of each in the house at the moment - tho the LG is old now. I do usually buy for the smart features tbh but as long as it runs plex! No problems on Samsung with the Xbox one s. I’m not a big gamer tho.

I always mention safeguarding when schools don’t listen to XP / win 2003 problems.

My Mac FF updated automatically last night. Now I’ve adjust the default theme I just say I love it. It’s been a long long long time since I was excited by a browser but It feels so quick!

A local company you can build a partnership with.

You don’t have any of the AP’s linked together wirelessly? This happened to one of our installs. In effect ALL network traffic was flowing over a wireless link between two AP’s. Slowed things to a crawl!

Love the convenience of plex and amazon built in on my 2014 Samsung. We do use chromecast for NowTV tho. Father in law just brought a newer Samsung. I’d have gone LG but it’s very nice and with a newer plex client. It seems to have loads built in too

What OS exactly ? We had some laptops with intel chipsets that had the same effect using Win 10 1703. We went back to 1607 in the end as nothing could fix it. Haven’t tried 1709 yet but got my image ready now!

Another me too. I write a poweshell script that runs every hour originally I think. I’ve fine tuned it now so it looks for ‘stuck’ print jobs and if it finds any stops the spoiler, deletes Job and restarts. So I could run it more frequently now. And this is a custom driver deployed via Ricoh print driver creator software. I had to use that to get the code prompt to work on clients. I’m hoping when they upgrade the copier we won’t have the problem. It defo comes from using the edge browser or the win 10 photos app.

I don’t see anything in that that suggests he’s anywhere close to 4th best driver. His record speaks for itself anyway. If you wanna talk overrated drivers, Vettel is your man.

Alonso is a very good driver and his talent is being wasted. And Lewis beat him hands down when he was but a rookie. Mad max and ocon look good and Danny ric is brilliant. But Lewis out talents them all
