I tend to agree with those who say this isn't worth doing. While this is a far, far better solution than holding delivery of mail until the next day or (worse) blocking the sending of mail after hours, it is still mostly attempting to be a technical solution to a policy problem. You could definitely do it with a scheduled powershell script, but I'd recommend against it - have a clearly communicated policy and there'll be no need.

The connect.ini lists the server and the database - what DBs are shown on the server? Just the SIMS one?

I'd leave this until you can flatten the network and get rid of the admin/curric distinction, then you can install SIMS without worrying. Admin/curric networks cause more problems than they solve.

How about a Chromebit and Google Slides(?) - that way staff can edit the presentation wherever they are and you can set it to auto-refresh every X minutes with some tweaking and some HTML/JS (happy to share my code).

It's definitely MFT corruption of some sort - as people have said, fake capacity USB drives are the usual suspect but it could be a failing server drive if that doesn't seem likely.

I would recommend a converged virtualisation appliance over Azure AD (there may well be legacy applications that won't integrate with it, and you'll probably need on-site servers for some things), but I would definitely use Office 365 for email, and possibly some of its other features depending on your use case. If you already use Office 365, there is no benefit to moving to Google, and plenty of downsides for you and your users in terms of migration snags. In almost all cases, no, it does not. Those who interact with things like Exams Organiser may need it to place/retrieve CTF files, but we give it as-needed rather than by default.

I'd look on Google Fonts and pick one that you think works well - Roboto or Open Sans are good "safe" choices. Don't follow fashion, pick something that's (a) easy to read, and (b) simple, non-flashy.

Makes me very grateful to have a brand new building with sensible key suiting and one master key. A previous job had all sorts of "odd" keys, and various doors required various special "jiggles" to get them to open. We ended up looking like jailers with our clinking keys!

Yes. This is a policy issue, not a technical issue.

My thinking is that perhaps the load of Google Maps/Waze/whatever plus Life360 is overloading the chip (because of a fault) or the GPS software subsystem, and you only notice it while driving because you don't use GPS-intensive apps at any other time. Perhaps try having Google Maps open while going for a walk, see what happens.

I'm wondering whether the GPS chip is failing (overheating?) and giving junk data sometimes, causing a crash.

Does it happen when using GPS-intensive applications (e.g. Google Maps) while not in Auto mode?

Hi all, Can anyone see any potential problems with running two instances of Spiceworks on the one network? We want a helpdesk for our resources team (they make stuff for class teams, supply paper and laminating pouches, do copying, etc.), and my thinking is just to set up a separate Spiceworks instance, disable all the network monitoring stuff and let them have at it. I did consider having them use ours, but (a) I don't want them having admin access to IT/facilities tickets, and (b) reporting will be easier with a separate instance.
