Next week I need to move Papercut to a new server. I want to do this or our MFD provider will charge to do this. They are giving me the installer files for the version we have as I believe the maintenance has expired - although I need to confirm this. Is moving Papercut a relative simple thing to do? Our new server will have the same IP and name as the old one so I am hoping I can: Backup Papercut and the whole directory Turn off old server Build new server Install Printers with same Names as old server Install Papercut Restore Backup file I hve a Papercut article to follow so hopefully it is this simple. As the name and IP of the server is not changing I am assuming I do not have to do anything to the MFDs. Any advise on this would be great.

Storage Spaces Direct is only for HyperV and SQL workloads currently. It is not meant as a direct replacement for hardware RAID

Can you do without certificate as well? We currently push through different port using wpad but they still need to install a certificate.

Yes we did this. Took us a while due to the hardware requirements and we had to buy extra parts in the end that were fully supported. Performance is better than on our SAN previously

No issues with out VPN after migrating.

Is she using both currently? Are both domains in the same tenant?

I’ve had this with VMs and it took 24 hours for the service to realise I was back in credit, even though the portal shown me as OK. How long ago did you fix the payment?

Unfortunately my MDM is not working. Devices cannot check in. Couldn’t see any open ports to Apple in the firewall so I have added ports 5223 to 17.0.0.0/8 and the logs suggest this is working better now. However iPads still not checking in but think it is related to the proxy not being setup yet

Can I check I have this right. For unmanaged devices (ie BYOD), the user must: - Install the certificate - For Windows, ensure auto detect settings is ticked - For iOS change the proxy to Auto (but add no URL). Is there no way to have filtering with no proxy set at all? Our WPAD and PAC are working OK but getting users to set a proxy on their phone is a pain, the certificate is less complicated

I can live with the MDM not working straight away, but I need these iPads to at least be able to get on the internet. Will be a phone call to support first thing to see if the ports were configured for me. If not, a call to the school with an apology.

We use ZuluDesk. iPads can’t check in. PAC is hosted on the DC (only server in school).

Yes exactly that! Nothing mentioned about DNS. Although the engineer said this has happened before and Netsweeper are working on it. We are using a PAC file. The PAC side is working so as soon as they give me the new proxy I can just change in PAC file and hopefully they will work.

Not great first experience of migration today. Although most of the little issues got resolved we still have no iPads. They will not authenticate correctly so asked for the additional proxy/port to be created. Heard nothing back so unsure if this will be created tonight ready for tomorrow. If not, 60 iPads will be sat doing nothing. The MDM is also not working, but may be an authentication issue as above so will wait for that to be solved first. Also had issues with Skype and OneDrive not logging in on BYOD machines. Had to put the URLs in to the default filter list. Being ask SB as what services we used, I would have expected them to be added before hand - seems the initial questionnaire wasn’t consulted by the engineer who migrated us. Still, can only get better from here on

We have problems with iPads. Redirfects to authportal but then do not accept any credentials. Anyone had this?

Hikvision do a calculator to calculate he storage required for the cameras you plan to install. Maybe worth playing with that

Can the Default Profile be moved between domains etc? If someone has a working one couldn’t they just share with everyone as long as there isn’t too much amendment to it?

So first Netsweeper migration happening next week and just wondered how MDMs and Google Apps behave? Now we have to set a proxy obviously if the iOS or Chromebook cannot connect to the internet to be able to download the latest profile which specify the proxy to use then this isn’t good. Or are MDM using different ports or except from any filtering/proxy settings? Anyone who has migrated would appreciate your experience with such devices

Do the users have the email field set in AD? And also do they have the UPN set to the correct Office 365 mail domain?

No you have done something wrong as it shouldn’t need to use Microsoft’s NS. When doing the DNS bit did you select that you will manage the DNS or did you select that Microsoft can do it for you?
