  1. I cannot see how I can do this via DNS as each site’s DNS will be the same. The only method to have authportal at each site is to name each one differently but that will require new certificates which SB provide
  2. Is anyone running a single domain across multiple sites/schools who use Schools Broadband and Netsweeper? I will be implementing this during the summer for 10 schools and am trying to figure out what I would need to do for the authportal to work. In my head I am thinking we will need to have the authportal hosted in one school that is accessible to all for authentication requests. My concern is what performance impact this may have if all authentication requests need to be served by the authportal. Any feedback on those doing this already would be appreciated
  3. Is you Google account authorised yet for Education? 20 or 25 is the maximum users you can have on until it is approved.
  4. Can’t help with ClassDojo.....but what’s this transparent mode with Schools Broadband you talk about?
  5. Do they not charge for the hard drive then? Not that that would be as expensive as the £350/500 options Thanks
  6. I imagine there is. But is that the same as formatting a drive in Windows, still recoverable data to those that can
  7. If your suggesting that’s it’s very easy then yes it is. However not sure Ricoh would be too happy about us doing it for them.
  8. Well they also offer a cheaper £350 option which is to wipe the drive. Just seems to me Ricoh are trying to milk it in due to GDPR.
  9. Ricoh are offering one of my customers a £500 service to remove the hard drive from the copier for Data Protection reasons. As they have 4 machines going, this isn’t cheap. Is this really needed. What gets stored on the copier that may require this service?
  10. I had the same problem at one of our smaller schools recently. Due to their small number of machines I just manually joined them at the end. Would interested to know where you put the reg entry in the Task Sequence
  11. Students get fee ATP? Where do you get that from?
  12. I’m looking at setting up ATP am and comparing it to Barracuda’s Office 365 Essentials. Barracuda are adamant we must license every use with the domain. I see with ATP that you can set policies/rules to target users, groups or domains. Is it possible with the ATP licensing to only license a selection of mailboxes and create rules only for those mailboxes. We want to only license the Staff as Pupils mailboxes can only send/receive internal so we do not require ATP for those.
  13. What does Unify do that Salamander does not?
  14. You could pay Salamander £500 and let them take control of everything. Much better than Unify
  15. I am having same issue on 1803 but cannot pin point the issue. At first I thought it was Kaspersky AV but not so sure now.
  16. Fresh 1709 build then remove apps. Feature upgrade to 1803 and apps not returning
  17. I remove them during deployment not from the wim and they are not re-appearing
  18. Sounds like this will work then. No internal services required, just access to the router.
  19. We don't have a Layer 3 switch so want to know if do things this way would work. My concern would be around the wireless and if that side would work We have a router with 2 active interfaces on different IP ranges. One is the school's main internet the other is currently unused but does work. We have a layer 2 switch with all our machines plugged into plus the Ruckus Unleashed access points. If we used VLANs on the switch we would be able to separate the network so the different VLANs use the different interfaces on the router. This is what we want to do to offer guest access to the internet via the different interface. However, would the wireless be able to work like this? Could the ports used for the APs be used for both VLANs and then we would tag the SSID to the required VLAN?
  20. Every DC. No such thing as a PDC anymore
  21. Arbor do other things other than just MIS. I know a lot of SIMS schools who use it for reporting. I imagine the 9,000 figure is not just their MIS customer base
  22. Is 9000 not a lot?
  23. Yes, but it can be hard to find the GPO as their names are missing. If you have any, I would delete the first
  24. That’s how I’ve always done it. I’ve always had issues with the gpfixup scripts failing if you have any software deployment GPOs configured. The command just fails, but as soon as you delete the GPO it works.
  25. I’ve fixed many Surface 3s and 4s recently. Actually rather easy. Getting the old one off isn’t too hard as it’s already broken. You just need to be careful around the cameras as the antenna board is here and can easily be ripped off with the screen. Then but a screen of eBay for £100, it comes with the tape to stick it back down and hey presto you have a working Surface. If your interested I can send you a link to the screens I buy off eBay as have had many from different sellers of different quality, but I have now found a seller whose price is good and is also of high quality
