i have dealt with the PRS as i had a commercial idea for a website that used copyrighted music. Their licences are quite simple ridiculous, as you can read the wording several ways. The bare bones of what they are after is 5% of all advertising revenue from the whole site plus a minimum for about 5p per track, discount on bulk downloading. If you call and speak to PRS they tell you a different thing, the 5% of advertising only applies to the pages where a download is offered. PRS royalty scheme is still tied to the concept of a 3:00 minute tracks on a cd. The PRS are in a rook and a hard place between consumers and record labels as record label are wanting more money as sales decline.

Programatic data extraction from SIMS.net Data Base
penfold_99 replied to NetworkGeezer's topic in MIS Systems
I think this is make you county support desk aware that if there are data issues it could be caused by writing back to the database. All your county team need to do is email AFAIK [email protected] about it, you then sign a NDA and you get the documentation. I have been through this process, once you have the documentation good luck as there in no example on how to use the business objects or how they relate to each other. The buisness object are dll files. it would be good if there was a hello world program showing you how to get student details. i would be interesting in how you get on. I am looking at making a business object webservice or a interface i can use via ssh. A i would like to write back information from moodle which is on a linux server. -

Moodle LDAP and Windows Active Dir
penfold_99 replied to painejake's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
hi jay, first i would take moodle out of the equation. try connecting using example 1 here PHP: ldap_bind - Manual this will allow you to check if the webserver is set-up correctly. -
there is nothing to stop you using the SQL server web service, not sure how you would go able using it. SIMS.net does have a web service but it read only for a pre-defined set of results. i have gone with using view as it was easy to implement.

@budgester sound like so many other but good luck to you. Good to hear you are developing in php and mysql, i would recommend using Cakephp as a framework. Cake can handle all the boring but necessary bits like security and email just to name a few things. if you did go down the cakephp route i would be willing to contribute.

just remember to take an empty 2 litre bottle with you and then leave if for them to collect.
-
i second that, could you atleast give the name of a the main london station you can get from? also could you expand on "excellent benefits"
-
hi addid, i am about but very very limited over next couple of days. i take it you have a moodle install? I have rewritten the vbs to be a moodle block, and the config is now though a gui. I have also updated the SIMS.net timetable to have a GUI config, i just need to zip up and release. this should help with the setup as it auto installs the views. can you expand of the problem with the users?

seriously are you having a laugh with cloverfield, i would put that in the category of "you have just stolen part of my life and i want it back". The plot is rubbish a bit like lost, who in there right mind would have keep the camcorder going?

i concede it to be bonkers, when you slow it down, you can here the slurring of the word due to the accent. you indeed have far to much time on your hands.
-
It's boxxoxs not bonkers. as the "bol" is quiet clear.

Does he have copies of his work in situ? If so, i would contact the company and make them aware they infringing his copyright. Ask them to either remove the items or pay a royalty. if they refuse both, i would speak to a solicitor, normally you get a free 30mins session and ask their opinion.
