About painejake

Personal Information

  1. Don't forget OnLive which can maybe even run on the apple tv
  2. Running a Minecraft server for a friend (the server app is free) on Debian. He has about 25 players online at a peak and I have java set to use a maximum of 1GB ram for the process... No complaints so must work well! Reading their website I imagine it would be a case of 30 separate purchases? :/
  3. Every time I try to install Moodle under Lighttpd/PHP5/MySQL on Linux I get the error: Setting up of database session failed. Please notify server administrator. I have also tried installing on another machine and migrating to the *nix box but no luck. This was with Moodle 2.1.1+ and 2.1.1. Any ideas what could be the cause of this? Cheers
  4. ANother for Paxton here too

    Rift

I've been a bit switchy for a long time, always end up going back to World of Warcraft though. Tried Aion was quite good will probably check out a trial of Rift.
  6. Gamertag: painejake Currently playing CoD: Black Ops and Forza 3
  7. Mac Mini was the best computer purchase I made. As was my iPhone. Hell I'll admit it I'm a massive Apple fanboy. My Mac Mini still starts faster than a top spec i7 rig though! What linuxgirlie said summed it up really. For me it is the missing link between Windows and Linux.
  8. I have been very busy lately but updated Proxy Switch to v1.2. The website has now moved onto Google Code and can be accessed here: https://code.google.com/p/proxyswitch/ (If a mod could update the original post with that link would be great!) It is now in a much 'better' form and runs a lot smoother. Any feedback is always appreciated. This will fix the issue you are having sted. Its OK Graham thanks for the apology.
  9. Excuse me this is my Proxy Switch thread. If people want to use the Proxy Switch in the original post, It along with the source can be downloaded for FREE here: Linky
  10. Check out Latest News | Panda Hosts we should be able to provide anything you need. We also offer reasonably priced 'unlimited' managed dedicated servers including cPanel. If you contact us via live chat will be able to answer any questions
  11. Can't this be done using GTK# and VB.NET in Mono? At least I know you can with C# anyway I agree with Localzuk there, I personally think Javascript is a better alternative but it's what your comfortable with or prefer I guess.
  12. No worries at all Afaik you will need to do the last step for every package you wish to pull from karmic repo. Otherwise it will just pull the packages for the lucid repo instead. So any modules for PHP will need that done too so you aren't trying to run some php 5.3 with the base php 5.2 It could always be best to wait for php motion to update to php 5.3 though, unless it wont be for a long time or needs to be setup asap!
  13. Try here: Ubuntu Forums - View Single Post - Reverting PHP to 5.2 in Lucid 10.04 Hopefully this will help you out. Just make sure after reverting you PHP install you don't upgrade back up to PHP 5.3.
  14. Not at a ubuntu box so can't test, try sudo apt-get update && apt-cache search phpshield Does it bring back any packages you require? Edit: Hmm also found http://wiki.phpmotion.com/PHPShield scroll down to PHP 5.2+ maybe that can help you. PHP was update to 5.3 in the Ubuntu repos a few days ago (Or I updated to it a few days ago anyway) I'm guessing PHPMotion\PHPShield doesn't support that yet. You could always run PHP 5.2 if you find no solution though.
  15. Proxy Switch 1.1.0.45 has been released. This is a final version. If you are running the RC1 it will prompt you to update. This version has a installer however you will need to configure the Config.prsw still. The program now requires .NET 3.5 until a .NET 4.0 msi is available easily to everyone. All feedback is good feedback Source can be found here: painejake / Proxy Switch / source — bitbucket.org More info: Proxy Switch
