    Ruckus Wireless

From my point of view...as a user of ruckus and a customer of Net-Ctrl...get it. We've not had any problems yet! Net-Ctrl worked brilliantly to go through the tender process I dumped into Mark's inbox, arranging demos and patches for a problem i threw at Stu etc. *Proudly plugging a supplier*
  3. Mine's sat on my desk at work as the perfect delivery vessel for cafinated products
  4. Could it be something to do with any foil covered insulation that they're using to embed the underfloor heating maybe?
  5. Witch...I'll be there But...pairing off...i'm not so sure that's a good idea lol.
  6. DRDB and Linux HA would be your best bet.
  7. Engineers reset...turn him off and on again.
  8. Quick note...we're still using stone for PCs and laptops and still happy. Also I filled in a "how green are you" survey at BETT on the Stone stand and Richard let me have a green piggy bank. Password reset cash has never looked so cool
  9. Another vote for the Shure SE210s. Although, mine are starting to crackle a little and I've not had them that long so it may be a little run on the warranty.
  10. Chorley was good last time. The drinks afterwards were good too...just the sitting in the gutter that was not. Considering I very nearly got left in a chippy in the middle of Preston I'll be taking it a bit slower this time round!
  11. We bought some ruckus kit from Net-Ctrl recently and I can't thank them enough. It's been faultless. When we saw them at BETT Mark said "if we've not heard from you we know it's because you've had no problems" and it's damn true!
  12. Various amounts of rubbish...the weirdest thing has to be two foam casts of my nephew's right foot (something for my sister). I could also use a noticeboard. Anyone spot the bass guitar in a case just coming into shot on the right hand side?
  13. Yes but the pratt award goes to me for trying to unscrew the support poles on the pull up signs....never mind they just pull apart
  14. If you're using a dual headed graphics card as opposed to a video splitter, such as in a laptop situation. I've always found that putting the output onto the VGA out only helps.
  15. @Stu White...it's not considered couth to have intercourse with one's stuffed animals over a CNC laser machine!
  16. It's looking like we'll be going down on the Saturday. All three of us wanted to go so we've got to do it on the weekend

    Scheduled WOL

I had a look at the AMD magic packet and it doesn't like lots of our kit for some reason so just fails over at the first problem when you generate the list.

    Scheduled WOL

Thanks for all the help guys. What it's looking like now is that we're running into problems with one room where there's the odd machine that supports WOL and the rest that don't come on. The other problem is that the isolators for the IT suites are turned off of an evening so WOL isn't working of a morning without the machines being powered up first :s

    Scheduled WOL

I've produced a script that's just tonnes of the following for MACs for the IT Suites. c:\wol.exe MAC_ADDY Obviously if we get a motherboard swapout (so NIC changes) or new machines etc then we've gotta edit the script...which is a pain. @tonyd I just said to the rest of the team that we could have just exported the DHCP leases for the MACs (in the correct format aswell) we all just groaned and said "why didn't we think of that." Just not switched on in the head today

    Scheduled WOL

I've found angry IP scanner which has given me the MAC addresses for the machines I want (I think!) but it's given me them in a hyphenated format when the wol.exe thing I'm using wants them in without hyphens :@ Some funky nonsense with ExHELL coming up I feel. powdarrmonkey consider yourself PM'd

    Scheduled WOL

Dragging up an old post but it's going to save writing a new one. I've got to do this but I need to get lists of MAC addresses for about 10 rooms so am not really wanting to go round and fetch the MACs individually. I'd like a script to do it on it's own so that if we swap machines out we don't have to edit the script etc, but going from a list of machine names to mac addresses via a script is seemingly quite hard. Any ideas anyone?
  22. When I was younger Dad used to bring home bits of software from work and one was called Geodetic. When we got AOHell dial up I tried to sign up as Geodetic...but it was taken...hence....Joedetic. It's just stuck ever since then. Occassionally I am seen hiding as Quiescence.
  23. Awesome! Cheers dude.
  24. Just a quick post to thank the guys at Net-Ctrl (Mark and Stuart in particular) for the demo they came out and did for myself and my boss on Friday. I'm doing a bit of a pheasability study into a managed wireless system and following on from the presentation they did at the Northern Conference I thought I'd get in touch for a bit of a demo etc. Mark will tell you how keen that Net-Ctrl are to get into the educational market, and to be fair to them, they are brilliant at it. They'll bend over backwards to help you out. An example being I wanted to know if our existing POE modules would work with ZoneFlex kit and Stuart took the details and got in touch with Ruckus in the US and had an answer for me pretty sharpish! They did a bit of a site survey and a live demo of the kit whilst they were here and the ruckus kit FAR out performs what we've got at the moment so, I've got the eval kit coming in this week (just faxed off the forms ) and I'm looking forward to having a bit of a play.
