We have this as a heat issue. Some of them just refuse to play DVDs Other just shut off. We've got air con in all the e-learning rooms now (appart from one new one).

I'm assuming it's just firing staples out onto the floor?

Our cleaner is an absolute star. The place is clean, the bins are empty, she washes our mugs in the office and is known to boil the kettle for us so it's warm when we get in from time to time She even seems to get sachets of sugar from somewhere that appear near the tea and coffee stuff and kettle

My 17" was 1280x1024....I have a feeling this 19" is a higher resolution. I'll look in the morning...not that it really matters I guess because stretch ftw.

Could you do that in my work resolution (I can't remember what it is...it's a standard aspect ration 19" monitor though if that helps lol). I'll let you know the resolution tomorrow.

Yeah, that's the conclusion I'd come to already Shame, they should definately think about adding this to the feature list. I've even been through the database graph tree tables and can't work out which field I'd need to change to get it to work. Oh well

I've got Cacti setup and am starting to populate it with devices. I've just been through and done the following: -Switches -CAB-G -Core Switch -Slot-A -A1 -A2 -A3 -A4 -A5 -A6 -Slot-B -Slot-C -Slot-D -Slot-E -Slot-F -Slot-G -Slot-H I've got all the ports for each slot (module thingy I've just named it slot for some reason). So...I want to move the entire structure of Core Switch into CAB-G...how does I do this...I've been looking at the MySQL tables in PhpMyAdmin but can't work out what I need to change. Anyone familiar with this? Cheers!

If you were to get a 2620XM then you could play with all the fun stuff such as the IOS firewall and the VPN stuff etc. However, if you're buying second hand you're not allowed to use it (legally) unless you purchase the IOS from Cisco

Reduce the load on your UPS. Transfer some of it to another UPS / buy a new battery. Or...if you want to just get rid of messages altogether tell it to use netsend broadcast messages to notify and then send it to a machine that doesn't exist. (I say that because I'm assuming you're using APC Powerchute and it won't let you turn off notification so I found out the other day).

I've just spotted our LEA on the spreadsheet you can download from their site. I suppose I'd better try and find some info (we're wave 7-9) from the LEA. *Sigh*

I'm looking into getting one of those too as a "work phone" so that I can be contactable when I'm out and about round site and also for if I get an SMS gateway setup and hooked up to nagios in the future

Congrats. I started today aswell. Doing great...only gripe is I can't get into our storage rooms, offices or server room yet in ICT department. I'm borrowing someone elses iButton key thing until the site manager can go around and deal with flashing the locks for my access. He said he'd get onto it this afternoon, but he's a busy guy.

Do you have household insurance? My bag got knicked from the local swimming baths at the end of april and my contents insurance forked out for new driving license and other cards. I have a feeling the bank cover me for anything that gets charged to my cards if they're knicked but i got them cancelled within what we assume to be an hour of the bag being taken.

Yeah, I can only echo the thoughts of others. Really appreciate the effort that Chris and everyone put into EduGeek and the conference and I'm looking forward to trying to convince manglement into letting me out to play for the next one. Thanks also go to Smoothwall and Gav for picking up the tab on countless occassions and ensuring that I lost any semblence of sobriety. Although...what was with that chippy, took absolutely bloody forever to produce chicken and chips...amatures!

I'm not a fan of the eeeeeeeepc but I do like the HP offering.
