I was beginning to think I was imagining that the behaviour had changed, but this thread shows I'm not alone: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/outlook/outlook-mail-will-not-return-to-inbox/m-p/3759328 Basically it used to be that if you clicked "Inbox" in the left column, you'd go back there. Now you have to "Close" the mail you read or go back using whatever method you use/prefer in your browser. It's not a big problem and wouldn't take long to retrain myself, but if anyone knows how to restore the old behaviour...

So is each pupil supposed to have a unique code? They're giving the same one to a whole class.

Might be barking up the wrong tree, but I was thinking of this setting in Device Manager. and was wondering if the network adapter/s were having a snooze for some reason during startup/logon. Might be worth experimenting on a device. If turning the power saving off helps, it can be controlled by a reg setting/GPO: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-GB/troubleshoot/windows-client/networking/power-management-on-network-adapter

A non-technical solution might be an announcement about an unsuitable SSID being broadcast and that if it is not changed by the end of the day and time has to be wasted on tracking its source the there will be serious sanctions. I'd be tempted to get a bunch of beefy looking guys in suits/sunglasses to wander around "scanning" on their phones and tapping "earpieces"/mumbling into "wrist mikes" until you get a runner

Just bumping this in case it gets some new input. Still having problems. Unfortunately all I get to see is the aftermath, but it seems that some of the class will be able to "respond" and others can't. This may be teacher error, as I have recently been called to help in a class where the pupils couldn't log in (turned out it was a "mixed" class and the teacher didn't realise different classes needed a different login though the main problem is with logged in users) and another where the class couldn't open a spreadsheet because the file was only shared with a limited set of users. Obviously the two most strident teachers who have been given a set of pads with a trial configuration have yet to provide useful feedback.

Rosaline (Disney+) Rosaline is in love with the sort of guy who climbs up to her balcony to recite poetic words of love to her. Unfortunately he belongs to a rival family and her father is trying to marry her off to, well, anyone who'll take her (who's not on of that family). Romeo and Juliet will never happen... Based on a YA book that sets the story in present day, this is set in the "real" time period. Quite fun, and with a strong cast - Kaitlyn "Booksmart" Dever, Isabela Merced ("Dora the Explorer", Instant Family"), Bradley Whitford and Minnie Driver - but it really needed a tighter script with more gags. Filmed mainly in beautiful Italian locations, this might be worth your time if you have access to it and the trailer amuses. If you do watch it, you might be wondering where you've seen Lord Montague before. Let's just say Young Sherlock is no longer young.

Looks fun, though has a bit of a troubled history: Various competing versions of the pilot leading to expensive reshoots, and this trailer was "coming tomorrow" early last week. Also, Amazon cancelled another "amnesiac spy" show (Treadstone) after one season.

I'd say you're probably stuck with whatever your staff are currently using unless your head is willing to lay down the law. From my observations most staff rarely do anything that Powerpoint couldn't do but as the school has years/decades of resources in SMART/ACTIV that no-one wants to convert it's one of those that still gets used. In one of my three schools the head actually observed lessons and, on realising that no-one was using the screens for more than inking over displayed documents, chose a platform agnostic system. I no longer include SMART (as it was there) in any build and no-one has complained. Obviously, if your staff actually use the functionality it's a different story!

Forgot that! Apparently you can also use an Ethernet adapter, but my two were a no-go as I suspect it's got to be the officially sanctioned and no doubt expensive Apple one. Whereas iTunes only costs in shame.

Will it erase the pad? Otherwise, you could fire up iTunes (yeah, I had to install it) connect the pad via USB while holding down the Home button and follow through the "restore" procedure.

You could export the VHD to an encrypted location. Easy enough to mount with the key, but an attacker would need that (plus SIMS credentials for access).
