  1. Google recently blocked an email from a company who fell foul of the "Experts Exchange" URL problem. It seems that they do medals for sports days etc and not leather wear: https://runningimp.co.uk/
  2. Trailer. Forgot to press "post" on this a few days ago! Praying that they managed to forge a proper conclusion to this.
  3. https://www.amazon.com/Surveillance-Remote-Camera-iPhone-Android/dp/B016EMLZ3I Not that exact model! This may be at least partially relevant: https://org-info.mobi/shop/wifi-camera-manual-en.htm
  4. Was looking forward to this last night, but the rest of the family were incapable of being ready early enough. Fingers crossed for tonight!
  5. The best multiboot tool? https://www.ventoy.net/en/index.html Ventoy allows you to set a USB so that you just need to drop the ISOs you want to boot into a partition and then you can use the device to boot from. Great for installations and investigations. You can also create at least one other partition so that you can use the same device as storage. My key has a bitlockered partition for those odd documents and a plethora of portable apps. Now a nano-sized drive has replace 3 thumbdrives and a hardware based multiboot devices. Best thing apart from the fact it's free? Adding new ISOs is as simple as drag and drop and updates are swift and non-destructive.
  6. Bros (Premium Rental) Originally touted as "the first gay romcom" this later had qualifiers added. Probably after co-lead Luke "Killjoys" MacFarlane pointed out that he had been The Obstacle in one the previous year. This starts with a long angry rant from writer, co-producer and co-lead Billy Eichner including an anti-romcom spiel. However, after a raunchy start, this soon settles into standard romcom tropes. Very funny, but not one to watch with the easily offended/shocked. Not worth the premium rental but, if the trailer amused, you'll probably enjoy it.
  7. Been looking into TVs of late. OLED (out of my price range!) may suffer from retention, though some dispute this - but they probably mean with normal TV usage. LED/QLED etc less likely. LCD, definitely - we use one as a display screen and the "frame" of the Powerpoint is visible.
  8. Have you looked at sound fx sites? https://mixkit.co/free-sound-effects/siren/ (Sci Fi Ship siren?) https://freesfx.co.uk/Category/Sirens-Alarms/184 (For that wartime ambience) There are loads more.
  9. Our council recycles clean cardboard/paper and plastic bottles (no lids) ONLY. Useless. If you pay for a garden waste bin, you can't use it for food waste. Anything else you have to do yourself which is OK if you have a car. Oddly, the council tip/recycling centre accepts tetrapacks.
  10. Cheers. Got a bit of work to do on it or I may just bite the bullet and back up the necessaries and do a clean install. Bit annoying, but them's the breaks. Shame MS cancelled that program, as it was a nice bonus.
  11. Thanks . I'll have to look into the differences between Home and Pro. Anyone know how "networky" Home is? I currently sync/access folders across my home network and use RDP to access the HTPC from my desk. I do have a unused W7 pack, but I suspect that would mean installing 7 (if possible) then going to 8/10/11 rather than just using the key.
  12. 1st Ed "Mortal Engines" at a very reasonable price. Tempted, but already have a limited signed hardback anniversary edition.
  13. Had a tidy up and took a few (PS3) games off the shelf. CEX will literally pay pennies, so I figured the best bet was a charity shop who might get a couple of quid each for them. But which one would have the best likelihood of a decent sale? This probably varies from town to town, but anyone got any input? I did find a place that supplies them to kids in hospital but they want all labels removed etc as well as the games posted to them, and I don't have time for that.
  14. P.S. Legit ones, obvs. Emails or even phone numbers?
  15. My HTPC was getting old and tired, so I upgraded most of the innards and cloned the old SSD to a new M2 drive. The only problem is that I can't get Windows (10 Pro, updated from 8 bought back when MS let you buy Windows via a "Home Use" program). I keep getting errors while trying to sign in with my MS account, and so can never get to the bit where they let me talk to someone. Any ideas? Trying to avoid close to £200 for a new key!
  16. They provide a zip file that you can extract and then put the folder in a suitable place. You can install with a batch file. The relevant bit would be: "\audacity-win-3.2.3-x64.exe" /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART /SP-
  17. Does it have an "end" or is everything left up in the air? They planned on having multiple seasons, but Netflix nixed that idea.
  18. Just found a spammy mail from McDonald Hotels in Quarantine. I think the copywriter may have been confusing the Solent with their holdings in the Costa del Sol:
  19. Only if you like people playing with balls . TBH I think His Dark Materials, which I only have the final season left to watch, and Doctor Who, which is currently more of a "duty watch", are about all I watch on the BBC so the amount of 4K content they have isn't currently a factor for me. Edit: Just remembered Ghosts, so a few more hours worth I guess.
  20. Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (Netlix) Benoit Blanc finds himself at a "murder mystery" party at Elon Musk's a tech billionaire's private island. But things are not what they seem. A fun (if long) romp. Worth a look, but the "detecting" does seem to play second fiddle to the fun stuff.
  21. Are they in 4k on Android? Would the subsystem work? Also found this skin (Gamepad 2) that might be adaptable for non-games).
  22. Yep, can't get enough of those fairy tales in hi def!
  23. Prime still has some good content, but it is annoying when they want more money for one of the sub-streamers. I only have Apple when it's free via my card (and didn't watch anything last year).
  24. If you want to "keep it clean", PIN protect your profile/s and explain why to your folks. Guess you may be able to cast to the TV from a personal device, too.
  25. Have you tried extracting the exe or msi with 7-Zip? Edit: Or you could install on an unimportant machine and the extract the drivers from it.
