Netflix rarely lets its "originals" be shown elsewhere. At one stage the other streamers tried to follow this model, but recently some have started allowing Netflix access to their shows. "Suits", for instance, recently got a new lease of life on Netflix.

Maybe I Do (Rental most places) Diane Keaton meets William H Macy at a cinema and the two of them hit it off enough to head for a motel, but end up talking and walking all night in one of the best nights either has had in a very long time. Richard Gere breaks off his four month relationship with Susan Sarandon, who swears revenge. Emma Roberts, distraught that her boyfriend Luke Bracey seems to have no plans to marry her, gives him a day to decide what he wants and the two of them head to their parents for advice and comfort, which leads to the two sets of parents getting to meet for the first time. Well, to meet as married couples for the first time. Trailer makes this look like a sparky romcom meets bedroom farce but, while it does have its moments, it's pretty much a somewhat talky stage play (it was based on a theatrical production). Even the composition of some shots looks like the way the actors would stand on a stage. Bit miffed I "wasted" a free rental on this.

I'm also not getting any socks.

One Life (Cinema) Based on the true story of Nicholas Winton, whose work during the lead up to WW2 saved the lives of almost 700 children. Not exactly groundbreaking, but it packs an incredible emotional punch. Mme LeMarchand wouldn't see it, and even just trying to tell her about the film afterwards had me struggling to hold back the tears. Well worth a look.

Recently finished Home for Christmas (Hjem til jul) on Netflix, a Norwegian 2x6 episodes of around 30 mins each season romcom. Brief NSFW language/subtitles in trailer. Johanne is an attractive 30-something nurse who is pretty happy with her single life apart from at Christmas when she becomes a second class citizen, relegated to the "kid's area" of the table, due to not having a partner. Early one December, she cracks and announces that she will be bring her new boyfriend to the big Christmas Eve dinner. Now she just has to find one in time... A nice, easy, and fun watch. It's quite realistic in some ways, with messy relationships and lots of swearing, but not so much in others - given how many people fancy her, how did Johanne remain single for so long? I felt the sex scenes were pretty well handled too, both showing that it's not always "Hollywood"-perfect and managing to let you know what was happening without having to show lots of flesh. Season 1 ends on one of those cliffhangers that could be taken as a series finale had it not got a second season, so be warned that you'll want to see the next ep. The actual finale didn't go the way Mme LeMarchand and I hoped, but they did a good job making the audience realise that it was the right choice for Johanne. End of series spoiler follows the information below. The show ran in 2019 and 2020 and has already been remade for the Italian audience as "I Hate Christmas" and the first season of the South African version "Yoh! Christmas" has just been released. The trailers for both suggest virtual carbon-copies, but the first two episodes of the Italian version aren't as endearing as the Norwegian one. The ladies are all far more glam, though oddly the guys don't fare so well, and the lack of snow in Venice at Christmas makes it feel less "seasonal". Plus Gianna doesn't come across as well as Johanne. You have been warned, "Home" finale spoilers below. It's a shame that Jonas looks like a fourteen year old neo-Nazi.

OK, probably a better way to do this, but we have 4 "daily" disks and 2 "weekend replication" ones. The job structure looks like this. [ATTACH=CONFIG]70582[/ATTACH] The weekday ones are fairly simple; I just eject the disk and disable/enable jobs. The weekend replications are a bit more of a faff. That said,I think @Steve21 has identified the source of the problem. VEEAM should be able to schedule copy jobs, btw.

At least it didn't have the now seemingly mandatory pre-trailer for the trailer* (for the trailer). *Are people really so click-happy that they'll click on a trailer but click away if they don't get instant excitement?

Possibly a misprice, so grab it quick, but the entire series is currently £12.99 at Apple/iTunes. HD only (apparently they don't currently do 4K TV to buy) but still worth it if you enjoyed the show.

Unless you need to print out high quality photos on photo paper get a laser printer. Got a Dell on offer a few years back, still going strong and not used that much toner. Similar usage to @6Foot2. Got sick of going to use inkjet printers to find the jets had clogged/dried out.

Christmas As Usual aka Så var det jul igjen (Netflix) When Thea takes her fiancé home to meet her family in Norway for Christmas the scene is set for a culture clash comedy. Tolerably amusing romcom allegedly based on events from the director's sister's life. Hopefully she acted better than Thea, who comes across as a bit self-centred.

Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (Netflix) Zack Snyder's Star Wars meets The Magnificent Seven. Possibly watching this exhausted in the Christmas run-up didn't do it any favours, but I struggled to stay awake and was surprised to see that it was only a bit over two hours long when I made it to the end. It looks great, but feels a bit hollow. I also feel that it is one of those rare movies that should have been a TV show, which would have given us more time with the individual members of the group. Hoping the second part will be worth the wait.

The Crossing Needed something to "background watch" while present wrapping and this fit the bill. Had it around for a while and only had the last 3 episodes to go. A bunch of people time travel from a future where humans are being wiped out by a newer model. One of those shows that was "OK", but it's cancellation wasn't exactly upsetting. At least it feels like the first book in a series ending rather than ending on a massive cliffhanger.

Blue Beetle (Rental most places) Not he worst film I'vbe seen, but so forgettable that I forgot to most about it for over a week.

Got 29 without having to look anything up. One was a bit finicky on the title. Probably 1/2 a dozen that I feel I ought to know, then it would be thinking cap on!
