    On a seperate VLAN? How would smoothwall handle this if you are currently redirecting BYOD (so.....unautheticated IPs) to the SSL. Surley guest access would just be redirected there as well..... ...saying that, answering my own question, you could make that VLAN push out a different WPAD that would give out the port of a transparent level proxy, which would be assigned a filtering level.

    This was exactly what I was aiming for in my previous school and I couldn't work out a better way to do it. Do you also use the guest access through Ruckus?

    Glad you found a workaround, I have often found winXP and Win7 do not make great bedfellows.

    Have you tried browsing to the server from the network window and tried the "Connect as..." there?

    How much prep time would you have to do this? I would start afresh and pull some all-nighters!

    My previous school went from SWGFL to BT for internet and installed 2 smoothie boxes for firewall/filtering/email filter. So much nicer having complete control, I do not miss the phone calls to Abingdon.

    Look in the control panel and make sure only 1 version of movie maker is installed. It could be that the admins are opening one version (so no update prompt) with students opening a previous version.

    Seconding this, but depending on your internet provider you might need some ports opened.

    If you have time, add MDT 2012 to the server for deployment. Best deployment/capture tool on the planet, plenty of documentation, from Microsoft and free

    Hi guys, Recently moved to London for a role but honestly can't see myself staying there for too long, as such I will be looking for a Senior IT Tech/Assistant Network Manager role in the near future. However, other than this site, I have no idea where to start looking. Do any of you Londoners have any advice on this matter? Cheers guys!
