  1. We're rolling with an E5406 at the core, with about another dozen 1910-48/24Gs around the site.
  2. Missed your comment, and we've got the thing being delivered today. Ah well, it can't be any worse than the Ricoh it's replacing.
  3. System Uptime: 28d 1h Users: 1,102 Printers: 25 Devices: 9 Recent Errors: 0 Recent Warnings: 5 Total Pages: 4,659,581 Pages Today: 8,960 Hold/Release Jobs: 6 Active User Clients: 50 Boom!
  4. If you're moving over from a largely unrestricted print environment then you need to make sure changes in terms of quotas, restrictions, budgeting are backed by SLT. We've had it here for three years and print usage continues to rise purely because any attempt to control it results in whinges and subsequently a bottle job from senior management.

Their SFF offerings are quite tasty. We've got a suite full here and haven't had any problems with them since they went in last summer.
  6. Hi, We're potentially looking at one of these to go into our main print room, as a replacement for a Ricoh MPC6501. Does anyone have any experience with the model or the brand and thoughts on reliability, quality, etc? Specs seem to be very much in line with what we're after but they're not a brand I'm too familiar with. Thanks
  7. Worked for me on 8.1 Will be quite useful for some training I'm doing on Monday.
  8. Back in my day firmware updates were friendly little things. Now look at them. It's a sad reflection on society.
  9. Nice kit. You've reminded me that there's some maintenance work going on tonight. Lightspeed firmware upgrade?
  10. It's nice to have access to some English news, and a couple of years ago when in France we watched quite a bit of the Olympics. Generally though, the TV on offer is not a massive consideration.
  11. We've used it since September. Feel free to PM.
  12. Put 30 of the SFF units in during the summer, and haven't yet had any problems with them. Tidier pieces of kit than you may expect as well.
  13. The whole article irritates me. That's quite telling, I reckon.
  14. A pretty dark day for society when the likes of those two are brought on to lecture on parenting.
  15. We're about to implement termly quotas per faculty, in the hope of getting people to take a bit of ownership and allow us to stay on budget with copy costs. Of course, the true test is the stance taken when faculties run out of budget before the end of term.
  16. Yep. All the VMs went across without a problem. Only issue on our physical servers was re-configuring the NIC teaming, but that's as bad as it got.
  17. 19/32
  18. Enabling ActiveX filtering worked for me when our media students were having this issue earlier in the year.
  19. Little Novatech number that's been upgraded since. i5-3450, 8GB RAM, SSD, and another 500GB drive for a bit of storage. Duel 22" monitors.
  20. We've been using 2012 for a year or so now, migrating and adding more bit by bit. Upgraded to R2 this week and just sorting DPM R2 now to complete the process.
  21. Does the user definitely have an account within Papercut?
  22. The client needs to be run on all machines. On the domain it can be run from a share at logon, and for our non-domain clients we tend to install it locally.
  23. For No.1 I take it the client is installed on her machine?
  24. There's me (NM) and an apprentice. Network is around 450 devices and 900 users; Around 30 physical and virtual servers. We also offer support services to our adjoining infant school. We support everything you'd expect, although a new role was created to remove responsibility for things like reprographics, website & VLE development, AV services/social media etc. It's freed us up to be an IT support department again, although I'd ideally like a technician added to the team at some point to allow us to be really proactive in all areas.
