We are just about to upgrade to v3 as well as getting a 3 year home usage licence. My DT department also said about the cutter and also that there is now multiple undo’s. It’s not a mission critical update, but as they have been running v2 for 11 years I took pity on their request

Correct, A1 will have live events until 1st October, then you will need A3 licences from that point onwards, but only for those who will do the live event so you can swap them round

You need to set teachers to “only me” presenters and students as attendees. The article here https://teams.rocks dated 19th May covers how to do it in PowerShell. Set the DesignatedPresenterRoleMode accordingly for staff and students

The new Teams API has been out for a couple of months now, both Ruler Connect and Salamander are both using it. AFAIK, the only thing still missing from the API is the ability to link parental email addresses so you can use the Assignment Digest email

Hi. You don’t need Exchange to schedule Teams meetings, I know as this is exactly the setup we have at the moment... (we setup 365 on a second domain so we could throw it out at lockdown but not have to migrate the elderly onsite exchange server until the summer...) Open the team you wish to schedule a meeting in and in the toolbar at the bottom there is a video camera icon, click this, ignore meet now and click on the small text, Schedule a meeting. This brings up a meeting wizard and once set it posts into the team. If you want to pickup the url of the meeting, go back into the meeting and down the bottom there is a line of text that says “join Microsoft Team meeting”, right click on this and choose copy url. My new IT prefect is currently filming round the school putting together two videos, one a tour of the school and the other more for sixth form. Prefect is an AV wizard and was last seen bossing the HM (from a safe distance) into several takes of the same scene to get it right. The plan is to release both videos ASAP on various social platforms and website

We’ve had nothing but issues with Edge and IE with Teams, we only support Teams on Chrome (or the desktop client) which although not perfect, is far better than the aforementioned....

Got two 14” i3 4gb 60gb storage laptops arriving next week for our two identified y10 students. Glad to see they have overspec’d them so they will last a few years....

Interesting thread. So my understanding is that I have a MAK key for Office 2019 which works fine but to stay ahead of the curve I should be putting Microsoft 365 Office on all my workstations (test download and distribution built) but there is now no way to pre activate that with a key other than the first user logging on and going through the shared activation wizard?

Have you had a look at the feature set of the new Gen 2 switches with 4.3.23 installed?

Morning all. I thought I had it locked down but apparently not... I’m looking for the right combo of policies to enable staff to call students but students not to be able to call staff. We are using Education (secondary) and Education (teacher) teams policies. Anyone worked it out who is willing to share? Thanks Andrew

It’s on my to do list. The team behind Ruler Connect are tweaking the new SDS API so it brings over the linked parental email addresses so we can run it. Will let you know when I get my hands on it [emoji4]

I had this. The trick is to create a new staff account (Mr “a test”will do) but do not allocate it an office 365 licence. Then go onto the office link about 4 posts up and that should allocate you an A1 plus for faculty licence once Mr Test logs in. An account that has had a licence removed from it won’t do it, it has to be a brand new account.

I filled my car up on the day before lockdown, it’s still showing full....
