Hi I'm in the very early days of setting up O365 E1 for my users. Just wondering if short term it's possible to redirect https://outlook.office365.com/owa/ to https://my.domain/owa/ until I start looking at migrating mail from my trusty Ex2010 server? I know it's not best practice before anyone says but would be handy to have it like that for a while... Cheers Andrew

Morning all, just thinking outside the box. Is it possible to have One Drive for Business (ie O365 E1 plan) as a direct drive mapping for all Windows users on the network via a login script (or other magic/tool/SSO/AD Sync) either as a backup drive or who knows, as their home drive on the cloud? Finally got to see this last night with the OH, really enjoyable "leave your brain on the hook as you enter" comedy SciFi film, plot was a bit wobbly half way through but the laughs were good and the ending was well done leaving the door wide open for Vol 3 at some point. And for the first time in weeks, both of us managed to stay awake past 10pm, very grown up Only grumble? Small popcorn and coke cost more than the price of the ticket....

Was it just me or was "Knock Knock" a really great spooky classic Dr Who episode that just fell flat at the end with it's rushed explanation, plot revel and everyone was miraculously restored as the place came down? Anyway, onto more interesting things. So who is in the vault? And did anyone else get the reference to "Grandfather stealing a bit of the Great Wall"? So many nods to both old Doctor's and old assistants in this series, clearly can't be a co-incidence.....

I have two BSc (Hons) both in IT related subjects but other than get me my first IT Tech job when I left uni way back in 1994 I've never needed them or anything I learnt in them ever again (OK maybe IT security auditing but that's it...) As with all qualifications from GCSE upwards, once you get them they are simply a stepping stone to wherever you go next, and with most of my friends that's outside of the field they studied in the first place!

I think from memory if you disable "run" as well as command prompt then you also disable being able to type UNC paths in the explorer bar

Here if someone can create/write/delete it it's backed up. I have a big 30tb nas that does a rolling copy of all data files, it goes back about 18 months in its recovery scope. I also have two DPM servers, one in the far side of site 1 and another over the road. If I loose all three sites simultaneously then I reckon the airbase up the road must have gone bang... No cloud backups here but am thinking of setting up a vpn to my twin school and backing up to them. In my mind there is no such thing as too many copies!!

SIMS client is effectively a portable app, we just copy the SIMS folder from an upgraded working install to any remote pc's via PDQ or a fastcopy script

OK, so I'm a bit late to the party but signed up for the Office 365 Educational E1 package this morning, managed to get my AD in sync after working through IDFix, created all my users, provisioned a few test E1 licences for a couple of test users, logged in, ran Cloud Office apps etc, OneDrive is sorted etc and generally quite pleased with myself. One thing I don't fully understand is the email though. I was half expecting the mail app to just magically point at my in-house OWA if I haven't migrated anything from my Exchange 2010 server but obviously that isn't the case. So not wanting to migrate away from my on-site server for a while (one step at a time and all that) I've run the Microsoft Office 365 Hybrid Configuration Wizard, logged in and run the Minimal Hybrid Configuration successfully but if I click on Mail then I get a mailbox not found error. So, having answered the question how hard can that be (clearly harder than I thought) where do I go from here to get my mail showing in the https://outlook.office.com/owa/ tab or does it not work like that? Certainly until the summer I'm not looking to migrate any on-site email to o365 Any basic numpty docs or explanations very much appreciated Thanks as always Andrew
