If you have a SportsWorld nearby they are very good for cricket gear on a budget but as the Dalek suggested, a good protective tin can around the head is a must these days either for pub cricket or intergalactic time wars

Monster Family Tries to be yet another moralistic animated tale but is just awful with the best it can manage is a repeating fart gag Baby Driver Fabulous soundtrack, terrible movie Hopefully that's the last day I'm stuck inside for a while....

Winter is meant to be over, it's meant to be raining now. Just seen on the latest satellite picture that something is falling so go outside and yup, belting down with yet more snow....
-
Website, Twitter and the local radio stations online service. We had a WhatsApp group chat at 6am to decide if the school would open on Thursday, Friday was a no brainier and I had the authorising email from the HM by 4pm Thursday to update all the channels.

Another snow day tomorrow, it's currently snowing harder than it has all day and the roads are awful. Stay warm and safe everyone
-
The snow depth is now officially deeper than my mini wire haired dachshund who has just disappeared out of sight after jumping off the end of the patio!!!!
-
Snow day for us. All websites and social media updated before 6:30am and a decision on Friday later today.
-
All the colleges round here have officially called Thursday off, Brock have already called Friday off as well. Some irony for us, the ski trip meeting planned for tomorrow evening has been postponed due to the snow
-
Mine is an admin script rather than a user script, I run it on a Friday afternoon cd /D C:\Users REM ?-Clean Temp Folder? for /D %%a in (*.*) do DEL /F /S /Q "%%a\AppData\Local\Temp\*.*"

Our local radio station's "update your school snow status" page is crashing with a 503 error, this is before even a single school has closed and the mayhem that tomorrow morning will bring......
-
Big pocket of snow came through from Andover to Downton/Fordingbridge and out over the Island, we have several students and staff MIA from that area today, my route in was interesting until I hit the A338 and then it was OK
-
Pop up and see me @witch, we've got plenty here already. That 15 miles as the crow flies and 300 feet above sea level from me makes a massive difference to you down by the sand
-
Just arrived home and as I drove further up the hill the more snow there was. Home is looking very pretty, if it wasn’t -6c out there I’d go out for a walk in the moonlight, almost daylight out there. School making a decision tomorrow wether to scratch Thursday and Friday now, we have a massive catchment area (Reading to Weymouth believe it or not) and getting kids home will be a major issue....

I had a Netware 4 server back in the day that was up over 1000 days before I had to move it, it was a NDS replica server for an outreach office. Nothing here has been up more than than 35 days as we had a major 4 postcode wide power cut in the city that took everything out for over 2 hours!!!

He's mine I tell ya, mine.... And yes, he has a cracking sense of humour and insists that while our twitter feed is corporate and functional, livening it up a bit is perfectly acceptable when the subject matter allows. Er back on topic - no snow here yet but freezing cold, that wind would cut a lesser man in half
-
At least my HM still has a sense of humour, he's just tweeted that this is on order for the Site Team....
-
-7c when I drove in this morning, cold enough for even the brass monkeys to look concerned. Just walked up to the football pitch to conduct a pitch inspection for this afternoons Y7 cup match I'm meant to be refereeing, you know it's bad when you stick a fork into the pitch and the fork bends!!! So it's match PP and an afternoon sat in the warm instead Feel sorry for the students though, whole school assembly in the cathedral this morning which even in the summer isn't known for it's warmth

As long as I'm allowed to play off 28 and there is money involved it sounds great
-
I'd offer to host as I tick all the boxes but I don't think I have any availability May half term week as pretty full already with external bookings Cardiff is indeed a good shout though
-
Be careful out there @witch, if the sea starts to freeze panic buy at the local Co-op and barricade yourself indoors for a week
-
@DalekSec, you could always book in a meeting with me on Thursday morning and then claim you are stuck on the trans-Siberian Blackmore Vale mountain pass....?
-
Been lightly snowing here for the past hour. HM has just asked for the winter weather web page to be dusted off and put on the home page, for us Tuesday evening and all day Thursday looking good
-
Have played in the lower echelons of the Hampshire league for a few years, rubbish batsmen, slightly better leg break bowler. Retired/dropped and then umpired for a bit. My son played in the same leagues for a couple of years, very fast bowler who scared more than his fair share on uncovered wet green wickets but he's now drifted away from playing. Best I do these days is look after the lower school cricket team when they play the odd t20 or sixes match

So as the "Beast from the East" starts to set in, the long range forecasts are starting to come together, Tuesday's looks interesting although obviously this may/will change....

I've been asked to recommend an AV/malware solution for an iPad, preferably free (single home user, nothing corporate or centrally managed). In the good old days I would have laughed at such a suggestion, much like AV on a Mac or LINUX, it just wasn't needed but now of course... What do the esteemed masses recommend? Cheers Andrew
