Did anyone see the brilliant documentary on Discovery last night charting the three weeks of the rescue with unseen footage from within the caves?

Greyfisher was plan B incase it was raining on the day but with little hope of that (ever) happening we are sticking with plan A which is an everyone bring something for yourself and something for everyone else picnic on the cathedral grounds just behind my place, I'll supply bread, crisps, dips and salad etc so people don't have to struggle on the trains with 4 French loaves and a tub of potato salad

I did ask our events manager if we could leave this up for another couple of weeks so we could use it for the social and the answer is yes as long as we all chip in £600 each to cover the extra costs of the hire.....

I've played with PDQ Inventory but never purchased it. Does what it says on the tin, but I use GLPI for free which also has things like toners, printers, projectors, non ict devices etc as well as the usual PC inventory

I pay for Enterprise here and it's worth every penny (cent). I know I moaned in this thread that the auto approve system was a pain, but I soon got the hang of it. Setup properly it's just install and forget for all key updates/patches/software. Yes there are other solutions, yes you can do it for free in SCCM but I would rather pay someone else £380 p/a to do all the work than have to sit down and write install scripts, update file versions etc myself. Just my £0.02

Urgh, just found out what it was, SMB 1.0 is disabled on Windows 10 PC's and my 2012 server can't connect to it through \\W10NAME Nothing to do with SOLUS.... Thanks for the sanity check though, much appreciated EDIT: Yup, works first time after a reboot...

Morning all I'm getting the dreaded "access denied" when I try and roll SOLUS client out to Windows 10 PC's, all my 7 PC's work perfectly. I've clearly forgotten to do something in my new 10 build but I've allowed all the firewall ports on the PC's using my usual batch file, default admin share is contactable, using the same domain\username I use for my 7 PC's etc Anyone want to direct me away from stupid street and point out what I've missed? Ta Andrew

Yup, they accidentally set fire to a landmine training area and the fire brigade are refusing to go in to put it out!! I know a few people north of here who are having to keep their doors and windows closed because of smoke, not nice when it hit 31.2c yesterday...

Might have to be "safe hugging" though

Thread hijack Care to share about fixing GPP and printers? Driving me nuts under Windows 10, I've gone back to .vbs distribution which works but doesn't always set the default printer.... Andrew
