  1. If you can find someone who still has the offline version of Windows Essentials 2012 on their server (PM me if you want a copy...) then the following command line still works beautifully on Windows 10 as does MovieMaker wlsetup-all.exe /silent /AppSelect:MovieMaker /NOToolbarCEIP /NOhomepage /Nolaunch /nosearch Andrew
  2. And indeed for anyone else who hits this cracker, it does indeed look like 1709 is the culprit as I've now inplace upgraded 10 of the worst PC's that had this error and all of them have started working again now they are running 1803. Fun times....
  3. Looks like you might be right, just in-place upgraded one of the broken PC's to 1803 and suddenly it can print....
  4. Already bounced most things including my head against a wall but apart from a headache, nothing was fixed. Windows 2016 print server (although does it with a local printer as well)
  5. OK so this is driving me nuts. I've got a few Windows 10 1709 x64 PC's running Office 2010 x32 who can't print in Word but instead get the following error on screen All the other apps in the Office suite (powerpoint, excel, Outlook et al) all print fine, it's just word, even in safe mode so it's not a plug-in issue.... I've gone through eleventy billion web pages all suggesting fixes but nothing appears to cure it. Anyone got any suggestions or seen/fixed this themselves?
  6. Hi @MforShort and welcome along. There are plenty of other Exams Officers here, many do the role as their primary job, some of us (are forced to) cover the role when our own Exams Officer is away rocking in a darkened room muttering about prelim windows and clashes. Fire away with questions and I'm pretty sure one of us has been there already
  7. So is Stitch a ptang or is a ptang a non union Mexican distant cousin...?
  8. On the plus side, just discovered there are only 10 episodes this series rather than the usual 13
  9. Thank the $diety that episode is over. Really starting to waiver over watching the rest of this series....
  10. Not gone through the thread to see if this has already been posted but a few of these were new to me.... https://futurism.media/top-10-doctor-who-easter-eggs
  11. The opening few bars of the live tour still sends the hair on the back of my neck up to this day and I’ve been lucky enough to have seen it live many times as well as have the album on when I’m working late. Thunderchild
  12. Soooo..... Just been chatting to Witch about the next Edubytes social but looking at the calendar and based on the fact most schools don't break up until the 20/21st December there is no time to fit this in before Christmas. However, there is a fairly large window after NY Day as most schools don't go back until the 7th January which potentially leaves Wednesday 2nd Jan, Thursday 3rd Jan or Friday 4th Jan as dates we could all meet up for a pre BETT post Christmas Social at the GreyFisher? Throwing this out to the masses, what works best for you and are you happy for me to host again or does someone else want a go? @LeMarchand @elsiegee40 @BKGarry @witch @The_Oracle @DalekSec @Tammie @failnator @FishCustard @Helen25 @DJ-1701 @newpersn @Oaktech @Andrew_C @GrumbleDook @enjay @Saladin @PikulUpper @Devontechie @dry @bald_pig @X-13 @cw222 @pugrick_31 @ICTLady @AuXDubz @Mewdewgooboofoo @AMLinington @StevieM @pugrick_31 Plus anyone else who I've forgotten or wants to come
  13. We were discussing this in the office - we reckon it will become another Mumma Mia, Rocky Horror, Sound of Music type of film that will gain cult status and become a dress up sing along theatre experience rather than be known for it's depth of plot and accuracy
  14. I was very sceptical when this was first announced but now can't wait to see it. But I'm going to have to as I'm going on week 2 of release as someone is taking me using their MeerKat vouchers so no spoilers in here please, I don't want to know what happens
  15. In house - but not by me, I'm not even allowed to hold a screwdriver. My DNM loves doing jobs like that
  16. Does this count....?
  17. Sorry to disturb this thread from it's slumber but just been faced with the same question. We run the missing register report from PARS once an hour which emails the teachers a "hey, do your %^%^^** job and fill in your registers" email but in the tradition of Chinese whispers one of our heads of year reckons in their old school SIMS would display a register in red if it was late...? Now thank the $deity$ I'm not a SIMS person nor is it my job but my MIS Officer can't find a setting. Does something like that exist out the box? Cheers Andrew
  18. We replaced a 5 camera coax system (poor quality and expensive annual maintenance) and went completely in-house with a 20 camera Unifi IP Video solution. £150 per camera, no annual maintenance and the DVR software is free hosted on-site on a server of your choice of flavour. Excellent system which the staff love and the boys not so much...
  19. Exactly this. In my house, my 16yo daughter and I are avid watchers but I've kinda felt I'm watching this series because I always watch rather than waiting for the next episode. Maybe it's because each episode is meant to be standalone (although I (as can half the Who world) can already see a couple of arcs coming back later) it's just a bit Doctor Who by numbers at the moment. Saw the trailer for the spiders and just thought meh. Might change as we go along but at the moment I'm a maybe
  20. Sadly my pre school weekday, post school weekday and weekend job is just that!!! Thanks for the feedback
  21. My OH (a highly experienced national equine panel judge) has started a Facebook blog poking fun at the good, the bad and bloody expensive sides of equine management, horse ownership and showing. If you fancy a laugh and don't mind the odd swear word now and then, the blog can be found here:- https://www.facebook.com/pg/grumblyoldbat/posts/ Feel free to like and follow if it's your thing, if nothing else it will do her flagging confidence some good
  22. https://www.ubnt.com/airmax/powerbeam-ac-gen2/ £100 each end, range of about 18km, I’ve got one pair running 1.3km over a crowded housing estate and non line of sight up to the playing fields at a link speed of 160mb. Pretty impressive kit with lots of tools to help alignment with the free AirMax software they provide.
  23. Fab, clearly with printing being so stable and un-problematic for sysadmins, let’s make some major changes to how it works before M$ have fixed the initial mess.....
  24. Delprof2 can also remove them, and if you wanted to enable the grey box, then a little utility called Windows Enabler will make magic happen DelProf2.exe /id:ACCOUNT_NAME
  25. We've just got in some Akamai 19.5" privacy screens for £45 each off Amazon, was the best we could find (although we didn't look that hard...)
