Hi Tech guy - I have checked and checked but can't find anything - I have tried pushing a piece of folded paper through to make sure the path is clear - it goes through fine in the centre, but is quite difficult to get through at the sides, but not sure if that is because the rollers aren't spinning to help. Any ideas of other ways to check for jammed paper?

No idea what to do here - tried different paper, tried to check if anything is jammed - nothing seems to be there. Feeds ok from tray 1, but not tray 2, this is where it jams everytime. (Looking from underneath - perched on the edge of a table) From above - nothing is coming through (Another view from below) I have tried everything except just buying a new printer! Hope someone can help! Thanks.

I have a Windows 7 laptop here - when I turn it on, it asks for a password - in bios really as Windows hasn't loaded. If I put in the Bios password, Windows then proceeds to load normally. Not sure why this is happening - anyone know how to stop this happening? (My manager is out so can't ask him!) Thanks.

Hi, Kind of posted about this yesterday but in the wroong section asking for the wrong advice. Our librarian has, over the last few days, had problems with the font drop down in office - (word, powerpoint and publisher at least - don't think she's tried the others). It juust opens, blank and then crashes the whole program. Takes ages to force close. Nothing else is running at the same time, I have been through and deleted about 90 fonts that were unneccesary (no idea how they got there but the PC has been there about 10 years so someone must've installed them before I worked here). Still the same problem. Not really sure where to go from here, no one else is having this problem to my knowledge. She has 2gb of RAM so more than enough for what she needs. Nothing else has changed on her set up recently. Anyone got any ideas? Really at a loss!

Is there a way to simply restore a default font list in XP? Our librarian seems to have problems with Office products crashing when she opens the change font drop down. I have had a look and she seems to have a few fonts which aren't 'standard' issue. No idea how they have all got there to be honest, but would probably help to delete them all - of course, I don't know which aren't standard (without it taking forever of course!) Thanks.

On a networked, XP machine. Usual story - teacher saved a file to cyber space. He is still logged on. (I am quite new, so probabaly isn't any way - but he is being really insistent!)

One of our teachers is having problems viewing pdf's online. He is on Windows 7. All he gets is an 'oval' shape (Do you know if you print a pdf incorrectly and you just get a circle on a piece of paper? that circle) Any clues? He has a pdf view installed etc.

Hope this is in the right section, wasn't sure where to put it. We use RoyalTS in our office and are still pondering a new password storage system. Well it appears it can be done here and seems silly to have another piece of software if we don't need it. The thing which I am struggling with, is - if I set a connection for a webpage, set all the auto connect options etc. then click on it - sometimes it opens on the dashboard, where there is an option then to 'open in browser'. Sometimes it opens in a RoyalTS window. I would like it to run in my standard browser as it is just more practical. Anyone got any ideas how? Thanks :-)

Anyone else getting this problem? In the last few days, loads of our windows 7 (fortunately not many on Windows 7) PC's are logging onto a black screen. Not a black background, but the whole screen is going black. Deleting the profile seems to 'solve' it, but it happens again. Randomly at log on. It is 'managable', but would be nice to figure out why it is happening.

Where abouts in the event log should I look? Struggling to find it. Thanks for the response.

I have a windows 7 PC which we just rebuilt. Trying to install updates - they are downloading and 'installing' fine - but when it comes to 'restart to install some updates' it is crashing at 15%. I have to manually reboot the machine. This has happened on one other machine this week as well - any ideas if there may be an issue with an update? I have no way to tell which is causing the crash - so may end up doing all 49 indivually... Anyone else experienced this problem? Thanks.

Yes. Free collections. Don't even need to itemise them. We used to use mobeytoschools but seems really fiddely. I also looked at recycool. They are pretty much the same as these guys. Only reason I went with these was because I Iost the link to recycool and couldn't remember their name!

I have been able to create forms in Livecycle which seems to have been installed with Acrobat. But it has been a total nightmare to use them - no one has the correct software for filling in etc. We ended up just using a protected Microsoft Word document with editable fields for application forms as I felt like I was banging my head against a brick wall with this. Also - re: liscencing - I don't know about Acrobat etc. but I contacted Adobe recently re: photoshop etc. and they said they only do the 'creative cloud' now, which is run via subscription - they have a academic package, but the only way to get it was via a monthly subscription which we don't really want to do.
